We came here last week spent over £200 on* food and drinks had the best service and dining experience in a long while, we came today just because of how good it was. Today was absolutely horrific to say the least the manager on the door called Michael was so rude and arrogant I was honestly lost for words. He asked us what we want to order I said the same as I did last week; 2 sharing platters but wanted to substitute the normal fries for sweet potato as I have a massive intolerence to normal potatoes, he began to spin a barrel of lies about how the chefs kick off about it and then claimed it’s because they are more expensive 0.60 extra for what would of been over £100 worth of food. That seems like the silliest business idea I have ever heard of. We tipped the kitchen £10 last time and I explained all this to him how it’s not a very wise business decision to be like that and he rudely said we are going round in circles we aren’t doing it they shouldn’t do it in the first place and that’s that. I don’t get spoken to that by random people in the street let alone someone waiting on my table I highly suggest you do your Due diligence and educate this MICHAEL about 1. How to speak to customers & 2. About making reasonable business decisions. If we chose to eat inside and was served by an actual Server who are always polite and courtious we would already be eating what we had last Sunday followed by the same tip. This MICHAEL really needs to fix his attitude it was beyond comprehension and from a manager as well is wild and for reference to anyone else coming in. His description is wearing a sock beanie with a solid fringe avoid at all costs the guy will ruin your experience. I asked for a review card after his awful interactions he came out put it on my table and tried to walk away swiftly without me even catching his name. Diabolical.*** PICTURE OF FOOD IS REFERENCE TO LAST SUNDAY & YOU CAN SEE LOOKS GOOD WITH SWEET POTATO FIRES *** & now as we sit drinking drinks he’s just staring at me through the window like a child.*UPDATE STAYED FOR AN HOUR OR TWO FOR DRINKS AND NOT ONCE DID HE REMOVE MY EMPTY GLASSES, I ALSO ASKED BAR STAFF TO TURN HEAT LAMPS ON AS IT WAS 8:00PM HE SAID HE HAD TO ASK THE MANAGER AKA SOCK BEANIE, HEAT LAMPS NEVER CAME ON EVEN THOUGH LAST SUNDAY THEY WAS ON FROM 5PM. THE GUY NEEDS A REALITY CHECK

After a previous visit a couple of weeks ago, we were left thinking that the service could be much improved as we were dealt with by a very flippant and quite frankly rude server with no care for our experience. No complaints whatsoever about the food or venue, but the hospitality we received was seriously lacking. Shame we didn’t get her name! However we decided to give Salford Quays another go as we genuinely enjoy Caribbean food and the atmosphere at Turtle Bay is always lively and fun. We’re so glad we gave it another go as tonight we were hosted by Dani who producers such a different, positive and enjoyable experience! She genuinely could not have been more lovely, attentive and so cheerful! She was very informative with menu items, drinks and so pleasant throughout. We went for the Jerk Platter for Two which more than filled us and was absolutely delicious! Dani, thank you; you have restored our faith in exceptional service!!! 🩷

Food excellent, atmosphere cool but the service was excellent from Patric who took our drink and food order to Diana who was so grateful for some feed back that entailed a tiny niggle about the coleslaw… tiny amongst the high prise for chicken and sea food comfort bowl and Diana was adorable and grateful and insisted We have a rum shot on the house .. her attitude was exceptional and appreciated… we don’t like the American habit of tipping ( or else attitude) much prefer to get regular places a gift or be blown away by a stranger … Diana gave exactly the type of service tips were invented for … she enriched our experience 10 fold.. so much so my student … short for cash son gave Diana a tip .. only his first tip ever!! (parents usually get them) ..lol Thanks Diana for the fun at lunch on Saturday before the ballet .. Great service and great human ♥️

Turtle Bay is a nice place and the food is good. I liked the tastes and especially the dish I ordered which was curry goat hash among others. It is a spicy dish so if you don't like spicy foods don't try it. The jerk salmon and the Kingston fried chicken were decent but not something to talk about. What I didn't like was that all the glasses we used, 2 for beers and 3 for water were smelly and this affected a lot this review. The deserts, banana toffee cheesecake, ice cream and the salted chocolate brownies were very good. I added 4 star for the service because the food took some time to arrive. However the personnel was excellent. Very polite and kind, especially Dani, the waitress responsible for our table.

I gave high review initially but after last visit I have to change it. Service was bad. We ordered chips for a toddler and asked for not spicy option. Guy who served us assured us it won't be. But they came spicy anyway and when we wanted to swap it he still argued they weren't. Two of our dishes where burned. We waited more than 30min and place wasn't crowded. Staff was obviously not happy to be there. It's a shame because our last visit was great and service amazing. If I can suggest a change - the toddler dishes are not suitable for children as all is really heavy seasoned also portions are too big.

We are visiting from the Caribbean (Antigua) and this place was actually amazing. Food was really really really good..Very flavourful and tasty. The setting felt very colorful and caribbeanesque. It had a whole vibe. We made it for the 2 for 1 happy hour on the cocktails and it was a good deal. Staff was very nice and friendly. Some cool reggae music. But the setup of the restaurant had a one of a kind look and feel. Great experience. Very impressed. Well done to the owners and team. The food slapped. Propper ting. We will back again.
