If I could rate this nothing it would be that, a group of 3 of us walked in and we didn’t even get seated because the immature disrespectful man at the bar doesn’t know how to properly greet his customers, we asked for a table for 3 and then he questioned us for ids which 1 out of 3 of us had on us, we came for FOOD at 5:40pm 1st November, we was not there for a drink or to consume any kind of alcohol, confused we asked why we needed our ids if we were sat for food his excuse was if we are under 18 we need to be accompanied by someone over 18 which we was anyways so there shouldn’t of been no problems, instead of taking us to a table he stood and made snobby little comments so I said there’s no need to be like that and then he continued to be a snob so I called him one and we walked out as a group, there is no need whatsoever to be talking to customers in the way this man has tonight is just diabolical sort ur staff out. Why would anyone chose to eat after being disrespected as you walk in.
EDIT: also I’ve done my research on all ur other reviews and one time maybe is a misunderstanding but to have so many reviews on how your staff are rude you should think of making changes! Instead of making excuses for your staffs foul behaviour take action & maybe there wouldn’t be such bad reviews
ANOTHER EDIT ABOUT MANAGER: lizzie who calls herself the manager is very unprofessional and instead of taking accountability of the bad reviews she makes the people writing them look bad, I have a disability that makes me look younger and am not able to even consume alcohol, so for the manager to make it look as if I was kicking off for not buying alcohol is a total LIE, I said to the bar man there was no need to speak to us like that and then he carried on making sly comments so then I shouted back at him and walked off, I also have just come off the phone to the manager who is also rude and excuses her staffs rude behaviour and makes it as if you are the problem! The bad reviews definitely...
Read moreThe Crown & Anchor pub (aka The Jinglers) is my local pub, I used to have a love for this pub however it has become a little stale over recent years, the food used to be reasonably priced and worth eating, however these days I personally would not make this pub my first option, I would rather travel to a good Wetherspoons. The décor in the pub is to a good standard except the carpet, they fitted new carpet a few years ago and in my opinion the carpet looks a little out of place for a pub venue. The pub has a lovely grand bar that stretches right around the majority of the pub, however despite having such a large impresive bar I find it impossible to get served quickly even when nobody is at the bar, this is because the bar staff will just disappear and leave the bar unattended, so regardless of what time I visit the pub I always encounter what I refer to as the “Jinglers wait” which I have always found frustrating. My final negative about the pub is the toilets, they are never as clean as they could be and the standard could defiantly be improved if the management put more effort into maintaining the standards. Now for some positives, it is a lovely pub with very little trouble, it has a nice garden area to the rear for those long summer days, this area is fantastic if you have children and want to have a drink whilst having some family time. All I can say is just don’t expect too much from the pub, its “No Wetherspoons”, but it is worth a visit.
NOTE - The pictures I have added are before the carpet was changed, if you do visit then make you own mind up about the carpet and the...
Read moreI recently visited the Crown and Anchor on a whim. I don't usually go out of my way to do many reviews however on this occasion my phone prompted me by asking how my experience was, before i left my review i looked through the previous history and was very shocked to see some reviews from what seems like young immature girls slating a business and slandering them for discriminating against disabled people which i then felt it only right i put in my 2 pence worth as i personally visited this establishment with a disabled member of my family myself.
Firstly the service we received was nothing more than warm, welcoming and friendly, which needless to say isn't always the case when we visit other establishments for food, id go as far as saying we felt like regulars the way we were catered for nothing seemed too much trouble for the staff at this pub. we were constantly checked on to see how we were getting on and if we needed anything else. This is such a big deal for me and really made me feel more relaxed that we could enjoy our meal in peace despite the fact we may have been disrupting the day for others with the extra needs we needed at the time of us attending. The food was lovely, especially dessert! and it is well worth another visit we will see you again for sure please don't let 1 groups review of the place taint your decision to visit as from our personal experience visiting with a severely disabled family member I feel maybe there was more to the story than they have written on these...
