I loved my experience so much that I wrote the following song based on my experience: (Verse 1) Remember Tuesdays? Back when they were blue Before the red, the sizzle breaking through They fed us flavor, pre-assigned and neat No choice on the menu, just the same old treat But whispers started, down in the Rec Room low Of a place outside, where real things start to grow They called it "One-Four-Three," a number on a sign Said they had a taste that truly could be mine (Pre-Chorus) Heartbeat drumming, a forbidden little thrill Thinking 'bout the stories, standing oh so still They said the meat was crimson, not the pale pink hue Something wild and juicy, something honest and true (Chorus) Oh, 143 Steak House, shining in the night A neon glow of something bold and bright They say the fat is marbling, a secret they all keep While we eat our protein paste and fall asleep But I'm gonna sneak out, past the sleeping guards so grim Just to taste the difference, on my hopeful, hungry limb Yeah, 143 Steak House, a dangerous desire Burning in my belly like a forbidden fire (Verse 2) They tell us feelings are confusing, best to keep them down But every time I hear that number in this quiet town A hunger pang hits deeper than the daily dose of grain A longing for a texture, a sweet and savory rain They talk of "Sameness," how it keeps us safe and sound But I hear a different rhythm on the underground A clinking of the silverware, a laughter in the air A world of smoky flavors beyond compare (Pre-Chorus) Heartbeat drumming, a forbidden little thrill Thinking 'bout the stories, standing oh so still They said the meat was crimson, not the pale pink hue Something wild and juicy, something honest and true (Chorus) Oh, 143 Steak House, shining in the night A neon glow of something bold and bright They say the fat is marbling, a secret they all keep While we eat our protein paste and fall asleep But I'm gonna sneak out, past the sleeping guards so grim Just to taste the difference, on my hopeful, hungry limb Yeah, 143 Steak House, a dangerous desire Burning in my belly like a forbidden fire (Bridge) Maybe it's just rumors, a fantasy we crave But the thought of real food makes my spirit brave To break the rules, to feel a taste that's truly free What if 143 is waiting there for me? (Chorus) Oh, 143 Steak House, shining in the night A neon glow of something bold and bright They say the fat is marbling, a secret they all keep While we eat our protein paste and fall asleep But I'm gonna sneak out, past the sleeping guards so grim Just to taste the difference, on my hopeful, hungry limb Yeah, 143 Steak House, a dangerous desire Burning in my belly like a forbidden fire (Outro) One... Four... Three... (Synth fades out with a final...
Read moreIt kind of pains me to write this review as I had previously had an amazing experience here. My bf and I traveled here from England with our hopes set on this place. From the moment we stepped in, it was off. We were sent to a tiny room with a few tables because we had no reservation, which isn't required but ok. Sat on the chairs and immediately we sunk in. The menus all had drink rings on them and were sticky along with the table. Ordered our drinks. Had to choose something other than my usual because they didn't have ingredients for a lemon drop, understandable. My Moscow Mule arrives tasting like only ginger soda, no alcohol. Get a second drink cosmopolitan, that one had a tiny hint of vodka. I'm from the States and I've never known of a Phillycheese steak sandwich to be spicy like the one they served my bf and not mention it to be this hot. As soon as he tried a piece of the meat instantly eyes started crying. I have pretty high tolerance for spicy and I was able to feel that kick. He picked at the fries and coleslaw to try and bring down the spiciness. After like 15-20 minutes Sam the waitress came and asked if she could clean his plate she clearly saw he didn't eat any of it, took it and tossed it I assume. He did tell her he didn't eat it due to the spiciness. She didn't even offer water. Another waitress did come along eventually and ask if he wanted a drink and he ask for water. Service was extremely slow spent like 2 hours because of how slow they were. The people who got sat in that dengue room were basically forgotten most of the time. I had to ask for my bill twice, took over 20 minutes to get it. When I finally received it they charged us for the Phillycheese steak he did not eat. My boyfriend complained and then Sam proceeded to refund 3 pounds 80 pence because he picked at the coleslaw and ate no more than 5 chips. Apparently the Philly cheese steak sandwich is 1/3 the price of the sides it comes with(chips and coleslaw) also they charged us 2 pound 50 pence for what they only put down as a period. Didn't realize this until we had left the place. It's a real shame because I was truly looking forward to 134 Steak House after not being to Scotland in...
Read moreAVOID THIS PLACE!!! When we got sat at our table the menu's had cup strains on them, then as we looked at the menu we realised the table was sticky, asked for a lemon drop and they didn't have "all the ingredients to make it and the delivery won't be there till the weekend". I ordered a Philly cheese steak meal and had it before. This time it was so dry, overcooked and burnt, I took a bite of steak and it was overpowering in spicy spice I couldn't even eat it! I've never in my life eaten a Philly cheese steak that was spicy and nowhere did it state it was spicy. Tried to eat my coleslaw and chips, but couldn't due to level of pain I was in. My girlfriend paid the bill and was charged full price for the meal I couldn't NOT eat. I went to ask why I was paid for a meal I couldn't eat and the extremely rude server said "that's fine I'll give you a refund, but you're paying for the chip's and salad " the meal came £10.95 and I was given a refund for £3.85 (absolute joke) then we realised when we got home there's a £2.50 charge and we dont know why. I wouldn't send my dog to eat at this garbage, atrocious attitude staff, dirty place to eat. Second time customer and never again. If Sam if the female with dark hair and glasses. Shame on you for treating paying customers...
