I was really excited to try this bakery. Passed it so many times back and forth after closing time and when my veggie friend came up from England for a few days it was on our destination list. We entered the shop, didn’t see any signs about social distancing and assumed that because it wasn’t a requirement now (and pouring outside), went in to see if there was anything else on offer that wasn’t in the window. This is the second year in a row that I’ve ordered a celebration cake from A.Pastry and both times it has been fantastic. My partner doesn’t take dairy so getting a good quality birthday cake isn’t easy but I can honestly say that both the chocolate ganache and the lemon and poppyseed are some of the best I’ve ever tasted vegan or no. They look the business too! Whilst having a cake made for an occasion might be a little pricier, in my eyes it’s definitely worth it and you’re also supporting a small independent business. Absolutely love this pastry shop! I tried a number of different sweet and savoury pastries and I would be astonished if anyone could tell they were vegan. The empire biscuit is the best I’ve ever tasted - soft and crumbly with delicious icing. The cinnamon roll was also outstanding and they have a really interesting selection of pastries from different countries. The staff are also really friendly and helpful.
