Got married in August in the area. We were being very indecisive about the cake and didn't want to spend a lot on a proper wedding cake. Finally, decided to message Aran bakery, with about a month to go. They said they couldn't deliver so we organised the delivery ourselves. We got an apple and olive cake and a gluten free chocolate cake (devils food is the official name if I remember correctly). Oh. My. God. They were so delicious, and I LOVED the butter cream on top. At some point during the wedding, the labels (GF and non-GF) somehow must have not been very visible, and so some people who I know for a fact would never touch a GF cake with a barge pole, came up to me to say that the chocolate cake was delicious!

For the next two days us and the bridal party stayed in a lodge and ate the remainers of the cake right out of the box. It was actually incredible and I still remember that devils food cake. I haven't had a reason to buy a cake since but the moment someone's birthday comes up...

Simply the best bakery. Maybe the best foody place in the country. Personal favourites being pistachio croissants and salted rosemary focaccia. Flora was meant to be catering our wedding which has sadly had to be postponed so I asked for a hamper to be made for my fiancee of treats from the bakery as well as the new Lon Store across the road. We've got a great mix of great bread, pastries, croissants, fresh veg and herbs, new speciality products and a beautiful bouquet of flowers arranged by the shop staff! Had total faith in Flora and her team to put together a full taste of both shops for us and they smashed it! So grateful for the personal touches from Flora for making what should have been a special day as great as it could have been. Were so glad we chose small local businesses for...

My new favourite bakery. Was visiting for the weekend, and will be honest in admitting that the long held desire to visit ARAN bakery was one of the main reasons we chose Dunkeld. I was not disappointed. Delighted. The pistachio croissant is possibly the best pastry I've ever had, it was still warm and just to die for. Also had some loaf cakes (lemon and poppyseed was a real highlight) and a blood orange pastry which was gorgeous and light. Three is a really annoying trend of overbaking things currently, and it was a genuine pleasure for this to not be the case at Aran. I'll probably force my husband to drive me to Dunkeld again soon just to visit again. The bakery is lovely, too and the staff were really welcoming...

I’m glad to have made this one of my stops on my way up North. I got the Pork and Apple Sausage Roll, Ā£4.25 and the Cardamom Bun, Ā£4. They both look incredible and it’s backed up by the flavours. The sausage roll had a light but crumbly pastry and great quality meat inside. Perhaps looking more for the apple flavour but still a great wee treat. The cardamom bun was incredible, I was transported back to Copenhagen with my first bite. These were a staple when I lived there and this one was as good as any I’ve had over there! Worth a stop in here but make sure to go early! Follow me on insta for more reviews: @Lewishere_lewisthere

Surely one of the very best bakery and coffee shops in the northern hemisphere. The best bacon roll I have ever had (and I have eaten a few) with rhubarb ketchup: roll and bacon both perfectly crisped. Then an exquisite spiced plum and patisserie cream (perfect) pastry with a ginger crumb. And fabulous coffee. So good we returned the next day and I had exactly the same. A wonderful discovery. Bought bread and one of Flora’s cookery books. My wife described the first recipe I made from it as ā€œthe best thing you have madeā€. Tiny, with only 9 seats, but proof that small is beautiful.
