Bayleaf Bathgate Indian Restaurant — Restaurant in Scotland

I eat in Indian restaurants up and down the country with my work. I have visited this establishment on three occasions now and have to say it is very average.. nothing special at all.. i have tried different dishes on each visit to try to come up with a balanced view, and on each occasion something has disappointed. To name a few.... only two dips with the poppadoms, mango and onion. Where is the mint sauce..? What is the pastry on the samosas... it is so thick and hard, no thankyou.. and i wouldn't say the starters came with salad, more a garnish.. The mains were better, apart of the jalfrezi which was so sweet it was like eating a bag of sugar. To be fair, they did try to rectify as i really couldnt eat. Lastly no VAT receipt is available, which as a business traveller is a must have. Dont think a fourth visit will be...

My husband visited your resturant last night for the first time. We were both very impressed quality of food , service ,price all amazing. I noted very much the attention to detail in the presentation of the food , the little extra decor on the place , very nice indeed. Staff were very attentive polite well presented great service. Food was of a very high standard well cooked good portion size. We were both very impressed with the prices both of the food and drink. 1st time visit to this restaurant. Mostly attend Bayleaf in Pumpherston. Drinks order taken, arrived , water was requested, it didn't arrive. We asked again. The restaurant wasn't that busy. They took ages to clear the plates from our table, {poppadoms) - ordered chicken pakora as a main , it came about 20 minutes prior to our mains meaning one of us ate alone. We asked for more drinks. Food was ok. Sadly on this occasion we didn't leave any tip other than. We've been once and would not go back and please up your game on service as the service at your restaurant in Pumpherston is 1st class...
