I don't normally write reviews but I felt I had too, I used to really like baynes in Alloa but I feel that a couple of the staff don't have very good customer service skills. The younger lad that works there shouts at people to get out the shop when more than 4 people enter. I totally understand for covid this is essentially but the time I was roared at I didn't realise that 4 people were already in the shop. A man and his young son counted as 2 people apparently. Anyway he could have be polite and asked nicely not shouting like a fan at a football match. I also seen someone try to have a joke with a staff member and there were 2 staff members working. The staff member who took offence didn't serve the customer and only one staff member was serving. As soon as he reached the front of the q and the one staff member serving asked what he wanted. The other staff member that took offence served the next customer. Very immature and quite sad for staff working with the general public. Its ashame but they have lost quite a few customers recently and they are getting a bad reputation in Alloa, I really like baynes food and will continue to go to baynes out of Alloa the store in Alva staff are absolutely top class and should maybe coach some of the Alloa staff. The young lads needs to be coached on his customer service skills definitely and am sure he could improve. I run my own business and would not be happy if my employees were this poor with the general public. Am sure some...
Read moreI've been a frequent customer of this bakery and almost every time, the food is top quality. Everything is always good tasting and well-cooked. Their steak pies are very good, and their tuna rolls are nice, but they could lay off the mayonnaise a bit, as it tends to saturate the roll, making it a bit too watery. The vegetables add to the moisture, which makes the roll too wet overall. It would be nice if they could relook at their Scotch pies, perhaps by using a more palatable meat or adding more meat into them. Ideally, the meat could be minced but not too loose, lightly compacted together, and filling the entire pie. I remember one time when I ordered a Scotch pie, and it was of medium thickness with most of it being just pastry. A more substantial and evenly filled pie would be much appreciated. On the sweet side, their yum-yums are amazing, and the truffles are astronomical. Their morning rolls and barn rolls are out of this world. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. The shop itself is very inviting, with nice decor and a good selection of products. Overall, a fantastic place for quality food and a...
Read moreI am a regular here and it never ceases to amaze me the queue is outside the door and you have staff taking a few minutes to unload a trayof pies one by one. The product is great but two stars lost for productivity, ive always wondered why!! With all the staff in here, maybe time to adopt the Macdonalds model! Its not all bad you rolls, in the plastic bags are just wonderful, bakers keep up the good work take as much time as you...
