Beach Coffee House — Restaurant in Scotland

Went in here today with my aunt for lunch, menu looked good, plenty choice. I went to counter at exactly 2 pm to place our food order, 2 soups, 2 toasties, a coffee and tea, this order took 35 minutes to get to us, the server put tray on table and walked off to get other bowl of soup. Soup was far too thick and far too hot, to even attempt to eat. The toasties although they looked good, mine had one or two slices of packet ham which I could not taste, even after eating our toasties the soup still too hot to enjoy, it also needed a couple of packs of salt to give it some taste . We did manage to eat some of the soup but it was still far too hot to enjoy. It is the first time I have been in for food and it will be the last. On other issue, as we were leaving we stopped at the top of the stairs to allow a staff member to come up the stairs and into the cafe, she was so rude, not an acknowledgement or a thank you. Didn't appreciate the ordering system - 25 minutes in a queue only to find one of the options wasn't available, so very quickly ran back to our table to get a different order, lost the space in the queue and had to start from scratch. Food took half an hour to arrive and was either overcooked to the point of being burnt or stone cold. Husbands breakfast was missing items which weren't even mentioned as being out of stock, an offer to replace would have been nice. Daughters pancakes were undercooked, basically pancake batter slopped onto the plate. Coffees totally forgotten about until we asked and the order then came incorrect, so we gave up and left. We visited 3 times over two days. Twice we had breakfast which was excellent value for money, once we had dinner which had very generous portions.

The staff are friendly and very accommodating with meals being easily modified to suit your needs. I swapped out items to make my breakfast vegan.

There were toys and books on hand to entertain the kids whilst waiting during a busy period. The views are spectacular and the place has such a great atmosphere.
