A good addition to the area, however I have a few qualms with the concept. The shop is only open one day a week, I believe the bakers also do wholesale type supplies to other shops in Glasgow through the rest of the week. It would be great if they were able to make the shop a viable business in its own right and expand the hours. Until then the limited opening means that a large queue always forms and the shop sells out quickly so you can queue for a while to have limited choice. The shops online presence bugs me slightly - the weekly supply of instagram stories last for longer than the shop opening hours and when customers question the limited opening the overbearing social media presence will become defensive and it’s very cringey to watch. The products are hit and miss, some flavours sound great but the execution can be poorly balanced while other items can be great. I had an orange cruffin recently that had far too much creme that was overpowering. If I’m being honest Lidl bakery has more consistent quality and choice for a fraction of the price but I think, for some, the appeal of this place is being able to post pretentious Instagram stories about queueing in the rain for an...

I visited with a friend and was really disappointed with both the quality and the service. The coffee was nothing special — very average at best — but what stood out even more was the cold, unwelcoming environment created by the staff. When I asked a perfectly reasonable question about product suitability for certain diets, the response was dismissive and made me feel as though I had asked something outrageous. My friend picked up on the same attitude and felt just as uncomfortable.

To make matters worse, when another staff member tried to step in and offer help, she was immediately shut down with, ā€œNo, we don’t do that here.ā€ Watching that happen in front of customers only reinforced the impression that they don’t value being approachable or helpful. A bakery should be a place where people feel welcome to ask questions and enjoy their visit — sadly, this place failed on...

This place has some of the best pastries I ever had, thank glob I don't live too close or I would carry my whole paycheck here for those. unfortunately the two varieties of bread I've had so far, while being very tasty, were so porous that everything kinda drips through, so it wasn't as enjoyable to eat. Also we ordered a lemon meringue pie from them for our anniversary and each of us only had one slice because the crust was kinda soggy as if it wasn't blind baked enough to handle the lemon and the lemon itself was way too sweet so it didn't balance with the meringue at all and was also a not so nice texture like just a wee bit grainy.

So if it was just the pastries I would give them five stars, with the bread it would still be four and unfortunately the pie brins it down to three, but I still very much recommend them and...

My husband and I have been big fans for many years, so it really was a no-brainer to do a bulk order from them for our wedding this past December. They were great with arranging our order (several months in advance), and on pick up day everything was carefully packed and ready to go. Our guests absolutely loved all the treats. "Best wedding dessert ever" and they are still raving 3 months on! As you can probably see in the picture, some were snagged before our reception even started. Thank goodness my MoH snagged some for us to eat later that night! So, massive thank you to the Big Bear Team for making a special treat for our big day. We love every chance we get to visit!

Upmarket bakery ran by two very passionate people, Ian and Dominique Pediani. They have a West end equivalent which offers the same. The sandwiches are delicious and change on a regular basis. Mouth-wateringly good and quite unique as they try new combinations of flavour in search of perfection ! They are Thurs to Sunday at present so maybe worth a buzz if you are making a longer journey. Trust me this is well worth the journey. Forget all you know about sandwiches and prepare your tastebuds to be tantalised !! Pic shows Pork Sui on focaccia. Dynamite on many levels, heavenly too !

Such an amazing bakery! Cannot fault it. Look on Instagram stories before you go for their daily menu options. I've had just about everything on the menu but our faves are the cookie dough croissant, the almond croissant, any of their frangipane tarts and the brownies are always amazing!! We absolutely adore the bread, especially the garlic and potato focaccia and the tomato and garlic baguette but you have to go early to get them. They sell out fast!
