Entered an entirely empty cafe, asked for a raspberry&white chocolate scone, Nutella & strawberry pancakes stack, a raspberry&white chocolate frappe and a double espresso. Lassie behind the counter double checked the frappe I ordered and we sat down. Several of the tables had empty mugs and glasses on them despite the place being absolutely dead. The pancakes arrived within a minute or two of us sitting down, the strawberries were warm and the pancakes were like leather - all two of them that came in the 'stack'. Very obviously microwaved, which is an absolute atrocity when you're paying £8.50. The scone was absolutely roasting in the middle, obviously from also being microwaved, and had large chunks of grapes in it which weren't mentioned on the display graphic. After a couple of bites, my friend spat out the scone as it had a strong taste of mould. When my drink arrived, it was entirely the wrong drink. I approached the counter to speak to one of the staff, a young looking man, as all of these issues made 3/4 of our order inedible or unenjoyable. When I mentioned the drink, the staff member was immediately combative and defensive, which caught me quite off-guard. The girl who made the drink apologised and made a new drink, but when I mentioned the mould taste he immediately took offense, insisted that it couldn't be possible because they're 'made fresh' every day - frozen and thawed in an oven is not fresh made. They offered to replace or refund the scone, which I accepted. I then asked if the pancakes were microwaved, to which I was snarkily replied "I don't know, I don't work in the kitchen". You don't have to work in the kitchen to be knowledgeable on the food you are selling to the general public - an utterly atrocious way to behave. I explained that they tasted microwaved and overall bad, I was refused a refund because "that's just how they come". Atrocious service from the male worker(the girl making the drinks was extremely polite and apologetic, and apologised again when bringing the replacement drink), especially considering I wasn't rude or demanding, simply voicing some complaints that were met with immediate derision and offense. I plan on sending a further email to customer service about this, as paying almost £20 for only one thing to be half decent the first time it hit the table is absolutely...
Read moreTerrible customer service. 3 young ones behind till (one was new getting trained). 3 of them chatting and giggling while we stood there waiting to be served, didnt even acknowledge us or say “sorry, ill just be a minute” the young girl with dark hair and make up was too busy paying for her own lunch from behind till. Could bearly hear what she was saying as she spoke quietly/ mumbling, no smile, no manners, no customer service. No conversation what so ever from her, she just stared at me to give my order after my mum had ordered hers. We got told to “stand over there and wait” for our drinks, we watched other customers get served and could tell they felt the same as us. Wasn’t too busy while we were in but no cutlery available, tables needing cleared. Been in a few times but never this bad. Ive worked in hospitality myself, its not hard to give a wee smile or talk to customers. Made us feel very uncomfortable and like an...
Read moreI went here quite recently, on the 25th of July, 2025, but my experience wasnt pleasant at all. I ordered gluten-free chicken goujons with gluten-free chips, my brother ordered a burger, and my mother ordered loaded fries. while the atmosphere is great, the food, however, was quite the opposite. despite the fact it was gluten-free, I felt quite sick after eating it; and I shouldnt have. I had a sore stomach the whole day. and to be honest, my chips looked alot like my brothers chips, which werent gluten-free. I used to go here alot with my family during early 2020s, before I developed any of my allergies, and it was much better back then. the portions now are too small, and it's alot more pricey now. as much as I used to enjoy this place, I fear, I am not...
