My Mrs and I visited here on 28/8/24 for something to eat we opted for 5 sharing plates, a hot chocolate and a cappuccino, I returned my hot chocolate as it was just watery and worse chocolate I've ever tasted, the lady gave me another drink in place of chocolate, fresh orange and lemonade, that also was not very nice, the mini pizza's were very very small and bland, the cheesy nachos had a cheap sauce that made the nachos very soggy, the holummi fries were only 5 of them very thin and cold, the fried mushrooms were dripping in fat and the chicken bits were not really nice at all the honey sauce used was like chemical tasting, we already paid for the meal, there was nobody about as we did want to let them know the food was absolutely in my opinion fit for rodents to eat, we did sample a couple of bits of the food and in the end we walked out leaving the food and most of my orange drink behind, it was that bad, will definitely NOT recommend or go back in to this place, and it might seem harsh but the food was that bad on the day we went it. You can see buy the photos how much food we left, so dissapointed.

First time here as it was recommended by the friend I was lunching with. We both ordered something different and went "hawfers". I ordered the carvery calzone and it was actually very delicious and the gravy was scolding and chips fresh. My friend order the butter chicken burger which again was very hot, fresh and delicious. We ordered dessert which this is where I wasn't so impressed! I ordered the strawberry shortcake sundae - well - it came with only one dollop of vanilla ice cream in the small glass and totally disguised with loads of that fake squooshy cream and a small sprinkling of biscuit on top. Didn't see much strawberries in it either and it cost me almost £5 - not good enough for that price in my opinion. Overall the place was tidy and cleanish, never used the toilets and staff were polite. I'll give it 8/10 👌🏻

We visited here last Sunday for the first time since moving to the area and will absolutely be returning!! The service was fantastic and the staff were so helpful; especially because I'm vegetarian so I was asking a hundred questions about the carvery (FYI all of the carvery sides are vegetarian and they also have 2 non-meat options which were plant-based fillets or a nut roast) I had the fillets and they were delicious! We couldn't leave without trying the puddings so we ordered the chocolate fudge cake and the sticky toffee and they were amazing! also huge portions, so great value for money! Can't wait to come back and try the rest of the menu - 10/10!!!

Visited on 10 Jul 23 with disabled son for lunch, whilst waiting on our food order an unattended dog, off the leash, appeared to be wandering around without it's owner and started to make it's way over to where my son and I were seated. As my son is terrified of dogs I quickly managed to get hold of the dog before it's owner appeared shortly thereafter and apologised. Normally I can mitigate my son's anxiety if dogs are on a lead but not when they are off leash and wandering towards him. I mentioned this incident to a member of staff, Shannon, and asked 'are dogs are permitted to roam around the whole restaurant unattended?', to which Shannon response was to shrug her shoulders and state 'yeah, if they behave themselves'. Unhappy with Shannon's response I mentioned this to the assistant manager who apologised and stated that 'dogs are only permitted in a certain area' and that he, the dog, 'is not normally like that'. Well it's now clear to me that diasabled person's rights are given scant regard at this establishment. Shame as the food was good, albeit the bigger shame is their blatant disregard of disabled person's safety and wellbeing. May I remind the staff at this establishment that although completely legal to permit dogs in restaurants they must he controlled, a dog wandering around off leash and away from its owner is not under control. Your actions today tell me that you consider people with disabilities less important than dogs. May i finally remind you of the following in respect of the law, and disabled persons rights, particularly the part about other detriment:

'It is unlawful for a person managing any premises to discriminate against a disabled person occupying those premises-

(a) in the way he permits the disabled person to make use of any benefits or facilities;

(c ) by evicting the disabled person, or subjecting him to any other detriment'

Do better...

Usually have a very good time and this time wasn't much of an exception, however it seemed to me that, on this occasion, the kitchen was short staffed or unprepared for the night as the cooks were visibly stressed and upset, food wait times were long depending on the meal (pizza thankfully did not take long however i did overhear staff talking of waits yp to an hour) and much of the carvery food had sat out too long. Roast potatoes hard as bricks for example. I do not hold it against them but as my daughter had wanted to come here for her birthday dinner it was a little disappointing. Still do not let this put you off as this is not the norm for Broadwood farm. I've had many a great meal there and will definitely be back. We all have bad nights and this was simply one of them. They were clearly doing the best with what they had but either due to sickness or poor planning on management's part, they were struggling. Also as a side note I do not believe it is fair that the kitchen staff themselves should have to come out with dishes and apologise to patrons. As a former cook and chef, they have enough to deal with in the back nevermind doing front of houses job as well. This should be scrapped....
