The chef. Regard him/her with a great respect, an artist with a flair for the most subtle weaving of delicious spells. This creative genius lives among us! Roast Featherblade of beef was astounding - gasp! Spicy Chicken something-or-other (I can't remember what she had) was incredibly understated, delectable and perfect! 2 x clean plates (we resisted the temptation to lick them out) and we were indeed sated by this goodly feast.
The lassies waiting on the tables were fab; smiling and cheerful wee things - they walked miles while we were in, never missed a beat: pure-dead magic, so they were. Folk notice these things, and they never forget a great dining experience, predominantly because of the food, but also because of the way the customer is received, made welcome and served. Top-class, girls!
The piped music was okay one minute THEN LOUD THE NEXT, then okay again, THEN BLASTING AGAIN, then fine, THEN LOUD AS HECK, then fine! We're 'oldies', most of the customers were, and the music didn't really need to be loud let alone noticed - and Ed Sheeran? Gad! Gie's Patrice Rushen's 'Forget Me Not', any day.
The surroundings were no'-bad - could do with a wee upgrade, the gents toilet, too.
BUT THE FOOD WAS THE GOWD, A SURPRISE, THE EVENT OF THE EVENING, UNFORGETTABLE AND BLOODY GREAT.
Thank you, we thoroughly enjoyed our...
Β Β Β Read moreAbsolutely disgusted at the customer service and manner that I was treated with by managerial staff. I ordered halloumi tempura from the menu as I am a vegetarian and this was a meal with no meat as indicated on the menu.
After taking a bite and being shocked by the taste, my daughter inspected and it turns out i was served chicken tempura!! I then said to the staff about this careless mistake and was met with utter ignorance and disrespect from them. I was told that it was my fault for not outline my diet requirements of being a vegetarian. I was met with absolutely no remorse or apologies on the matter and had to emphasise the severeity of this issue to even get the meal taken off the bill.
If this was a person who was allergic to chicken this would have ended terribly. Since when have we had to ask for no meat in a dish which is outlined to have no meat in it...
Β Β Β Read moreI visited this establishment the other day on the way back to the boat home to Northern Ireland. It came across as a down to earth restaurant. The music was the first thing we noticed - very 2000's sort of a style - different. The staff were very helpful with my friend who is Celiac (GF) from the start to the end. Very down to earth staff. Food is well priced and not expensive. I was very pleased with the chicken burger that I had and my friends enjoyed their meal also. The chicken pasta that my friend had could have had more chicken. Other than that, I'd struggle to find any issues with it. The good level of customers at the time proved to be a testament to how good this place is. A great place and one I would certainly revisit in the future. Highly...
