Coffee Boy Glasgow — Restaurant in Scotland

Attended coffee boy this morning. Service was shocking, no allergen information on the food menu whatsoever, the menu itself is far too vague and definitely needs updated if their policy states they don’t give refunds or remake food if your not happy / can’t eat it due to tolerances. I ordered a toastie with BBQ chicken, no where does it state the toastie comes with cheese nor did I ask for it. I am lactose intolerant and I ordered a coffee with alternative milk, I wasn’t asked if I had any allergies while ordering, nor was I told cheese comes as “standard” on the toasties. All was fine as I am an understanding person and it may have been a simple mistake so when I kindly asked the employees if I could get it remade without cheese I was told “no” and I “should have told them about my allergies” a man followed me out to my table and proceeded to make a scene infront of the shop telling me this was the policy. I have never been to somewhere that sells food that doesn’t have any allergen information available. The coffee is decent but the food was disgusting and wouldn’t recommend to anyone. Won’t be back. Service was disgraceful, as someone who use to work in the service industry I have never would have disrespected a PAYING customer like that as it was just a simple mistake that could have been resolved by remaking the food or a refund if they were too busy. Nice little cafe, well decorated but there are a few niggles. Poached eggs - they should be runny and they were like hard boiled eggs 😔! Poached eggs should ALWAYS be runny. This is what provides the “sauce” for the bread or whatever they are on. All day breakfast options but had run out of a load of ingredients by 11:30. If you provide all day breakfast please have all the ingredients. Needs additional options for side dishes ie spinach and onions etc to go with the breakfast items. Pizza was delicious. Hot chocolate and iced mocha got good reviews from the children but tea was average and weak. May try again but won’t rush.

EDIT: Thank you for your response but if you are going to poach eggs differently than the recommended runny you should ask the customer how they would like them and give that option.I did try to get the servers attention but he was too busy. I do think reviews are extremely helpful especially when you are busy and not able to assist on the day. It shows what customers expect and what they would like differently which helps you to change it or explain it to customers. I appreciate salmon needs to be fresh and there was no alternative bread (I asked for GF) but either notate that on the board menu or advise customers when collecting menus. Came here after seeing good reviews online, immediately the staff were unwelcoming I asked what soup of the day was and was looked at like I was stupid despite it being right there on the wall the manager (I presume) turned round and said no soup so flustered I walked over to the fridge to see what ready made stuff they had they shook there head and I felt rushed the choice was poor. I was never invited to read the menu and I felt I couldn’t of stood there reading it as I felt rushed So I quickly ordered a coffee smoothie and a danish. The Danish was stale, the coffee and the smoothie were okay though. I also felt it was quite cold which didn’t really invite me to stay for long.
