Standard Costa Coffee outlet with regimented menu, cakes, biscuits, paninis and sandwiches, and of course the standard coffee shop drinks. Sits in a good location in pedestrian zone and has outdoor seating. Interior is modern and clean with fairly good views via their large windows. Drinks were palatable and refreshing, service was as you would expect.

Tried their new cinnamon latte and brioche cake, as usual they both tasted lovely. The shops always clean and tidy and the staff are always very friendly

Coffee was severed quickly and at the correct temperature (I had asked for extra hot). My food was hot and fresh. Staff were friendly and efficient.

AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!!!

Regrettably my elderly mum & I popped into Costa Coffee, Kilmarnock town center, one morning just after 9am as we'd arrived too early for my mums nearby hairdressing appointment where we were AHEM "welcomed" by bland, emotionless, unhelpful & almost zombie-like staff.

There were only a few other 'customers' in the shop at that time & after approximately 15 minutes we were FINALLY served, we only ordered ordered 2 'hot' chocolates, can't remember what my mum ordered to eat (a toastie or something) we sat down at one of 4 available 'empty' tables & we could not believe that the majority of other tables were already left uncleared at that time of the morning & there were at least 3 members of staff visible.

Our so-called 'hot' chocolate should've been named TEPID chocolate, as it was only just luke warm, & whatever my mum ordered to eat was in itself barely edible, bland, tasteless.

ASTONISHINGELY we witnessed a member of staff take a napkin (right in front of us) & wiped a spilled drink from off the floor, then immediately proceeded to serve another poor unsuspecting customer WITHOUT WASHING HER HANDS!!!

My mum & I were truly GOBSMACKED, needless to say we finished with haste bolting for the door & STILL the other 3 tables remained uncleared.

ABSOLUTELYDISGUSTING coffee 'shop'!!! Oddly enough neither of us are in a rush to ever go back OR to any another hyper-inflated bland, lackluster, dirty Costa...

This is well-situated in the centre of town and serves excellent coffee, snacks and tasty baking. All as expected from this well known brand.

I've always enjoyed the quality of the products and have never been disappointed with their seasonal takes on my favourite source of caffeine!

It's small, with tight aisles and not much space, but it does have indoor and outdoor seating.

It's a ground-floor establishment with an accessible toilet downstairs but a hike upstairs for the others.

The service is good, the staff friendly and efficient, and the cooler is always well stocked and impeccably clean.

This is my go-to when shopping in Kilmarnock.

My only caution would be the space issue for anyone with mobility issues. My advice would be - get takeout, and if the weather is decent, there are lots of great spots nearby...

What can one say, it's a Costa, the McDonalds of coffee shops. The staff are efficient, friendly and polite. Obviously good at their job and deserve praise. Five star reviews should be few and far between and very difficult to obtain. Costa can be quite pricey, not always the best value for money. However, this can be taken as a positive, the higher prices tend to keep the riff raff out. No bad thing in the modern world. Occasionally, you will encounter them, the buckfast addicted, and what the Americans call a "crack ho"... I do not know what the British name for this particular type of female is, Druggy McOpenfanny possibly. Costa also deserve praise for the effort on reducing...
