I love Crabshakk and often take friends who have not eaten there before. Not once have I had a bad meal or service.

There is nothing I don’t recommend to eat here. Food done to perfection and the service is friendly, informal and informative. We shared quite a few dishes including oysters, crab cakes, spaghetti Vongole, squid and the fish and chips. I have definitely noticed the portion sizes were smaller so it may have been a new/ different chef on duty that day.

This occasion, my niece and I were sat upstairs, and were grateful to be seated as a new booking system was in place. My preference is to be seated at the bar where I find it much more comfortable.

So, why three stars for atmosphere this time? The heat was unbearable in the upstairs seating area. The atmosphere is vastly missing from the hustle and bustle of downstairs meaning when I needed more water there was no one around for a while. I left feeling quite unwell due to the uncomfortable temperature and had to end my nieces birthday night disappointingly early.

Side note: Music playing was odd that day,(can’t remember what it was but it added to making it feel like a canteen environment)

Crabshakk is amazing at ensuring a relaxed atmosphere, rather than a normally stuffy seafood cuisine restaurant. Prices are on par with good seafood offerings and great menu choices.

If there are no seats downstairs, be aware if you are seated upstairs of the rising heat. That unfortunately, ruined the entire meal/visit for...

I had dinner with a few friends last week at the finniston branch which is a favorite between us friends. I was met with extremely unprofessional behaviour from one of the staff members today… began with her constantly chatting to the other table loudly which is fine but sitting beside our table a bit too close for comfort and resulted in the other tables receiving bad service and being neglected. The second thing which stood out was that the server took an already finished plate of food and showed the already eaten lobster to the table beside us, which personally I thought was unprofessional. Whilst collecting plates a knife fell on my friend which can happen, completely understandable, we were quite understanding but just requested for one tissue to wipe the foodstuffs off but took a pretty long time to get the tissues to the table as the server was chatting downstairs with other staff and there was no sense of courtesy, my friend didn’t even receive an apology from the staff member. Lastly the bill was just thrown and slammed on the table, with no acknowledgement or words spoken. I understand that working in a fast paced and cramped space can result in things falling, and working in the hospitality industry can have its good and bad days, I get it because Ive worked in the hospitality industry before, but I think my expectations are not unreasonable. The whole experience that crabshakk usually offers didn’t meet the mark I am very disappointed and ruined our...

An absolute circus…. Professionally mugged by a front of house. I booked the Glasgow restaurant in advance for a thank you to my wife, I’m not a sea food person but my wife is, I booked in advance and asked for an inside seat. When we arrived just behind a walk in couple who got a table no problem we were advised that were were booked into the “pop up restaurant” this is something I’m not familiar with so whilst still confused as to why the restaurant wanted to send us up to cathedral street, no where near where we booked after dinner drinks, I asked the girl to explain, however her explanation was a Sharp in your face full on confrontation, and too my shock when I asked her to stop she was cute enough to ask me not to speak to her like that ………. Well that put me in my place … totally shocked that i had done something wrong …… I hadn’t , I just wanted her to take a breath, stop attacking and explain……. She then said she could give us a table, ( it must have popped up ) however we had dinner and left totally disgusted at the service, the food was ok as far as I remember as I was so shocked I can’t say I enjoyed any of the experience…. I did send a complaint in to the manager but he’s not bothered to reply so I can only assume that this is a normal practice, If you’ve experienced this shambles please feel free to attach to this ….

Absolutely disgusted …. Wouldn’t recommend...
