My wife and I went to Helensburgh from Glasgow specifically to check out the Craigard Tearoom and it was well worth the trip. Had the afternoon tea and it was fantastic. A delicious selection of sandwiches, sausage roll, quiche, and salad that filled up the two of us. Then came the sweets that we selected from their amazing assortment and included key lime cheesecake (light and delicous), an apricot tort cake, an unnamed cholcolate cake concoction with a butter cream frosting (yum), and a gigantic scone with clotted cream and jam. I treated myself to an afternoon tea fod one, and my goodness what value for money! Two seperate towers, one for savory and one for sweet, all for £25! I didnt manage to eat it all, and they let me box the rest and take it home. The selection was perfectly balanced! Enjoy a lovely lunch (something different) or one of those delightful cakes or savouries from the glass counter, washed down with a freshly brewed hot drink of your choice and a wee yarn with the hostess with the mostest ;) Gem of a place. If we're ever passing through again, we'll certainly stop for some lunch or a cream tea. Highly recommended. I won't say what I tried, but will keep it our little secret 😉
