The Ruby Helensburgh — Restaurant in Scotland

Huge disappointment if you know what the dishes they serve actually should look and taste like... Ordered a kung pao chicken and what came were slices of chicken (not dices) probably lightly stir fried, that were bathed in a sticky sauce with boiled cashew nuts (instead of roasted peanuts) and a few veggies... Of course the fried dried chilies that are a main component were absent... The whole thing not only did not taste nor look like kung pao chicken is was also tasteless (even after I added chili oil) . My wife order a Sichuan pork and she was served the sames semi boiled pieces of meat with it almost the same sauce to which had been added a little more chili sauce (of course Sichuan pepper was nowhere to be seen!) When I indicated to the waitress that my kung pao chicken was not kung pao chicken, she just told me that it was how they served it in this restaurant!!! What a joke... Like serving a fried chicken and say this how you make roast beef here!!! If dishes have a name it is because there is a tradition behind it and that should be respected. Anyways, I still gave it 2 stars because the view is very nice and the staff is also very nice... Maybe they should reduce the size of the Menu and only make the dishes that they actually know how to make? Or maybe you do not know what the real Chinese food should taste like and you still can go there...

Actually fully raging right now......ordered a delivery 2hours ago they brought it after an hour and a half but they brought me a chicken chow mein even though I said "plain chow mein no veg" 4x then at the end said "can I just check that is a plain chow mein no veg?! Soooooo it's 2 hours later I have a chicken chow mein that they want back (dunno who they will give that too) and my zee lar vegetables that are now freezing cold and I have no microwave in my mum's so I'll have to heat it in a freaking pot which was exactly the reason we phoned a Chinese so I didn't have to wash a pot!!!!!!!!! I'm so angry Oh oh they are giving me a pound back or something cos we overpaid for the chicken so that's just great.....very generous.....i should have just cooked at home!! I have been a loyal customer forever as I live in this town and it's usually a good Chinese but obviously something has changed and I'll be finding a new Chinese to order from as this isn't good enough! I'm very hungry and anoyed and all because I wanted to just relax and have a wee treat!! What I want is a refund and they can just take the whole thing back an ill...

I normally order a takeaway every 2 weeks either to collect or have delivered and have been doing so since December 19. Tonight was a small order of chips and separate curry sauce. I phoned for delivery and the man who answered told me my order would take 30 mins, so I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived 15 mins later. However, the chips were dark and crispy and clearly refried. I phoned and explained to the same man, but his response was I had my order delivered quicker than stated and this was the 1st time I had ordered from them !
