Don’t recommend joining the ‘cult’. The build your own roll was served on the driest bun, with the skimpiest amount of sauce and a totally overdone egg. Not good at all. The scrambled eggs on toast with halloumi was the same, bland eggs, rubbery halloumi and plated on very dry toast - trying to mask crap food with micro greens, we should’ve guessed it’d be poor. Also £6 for chips (sorry French Fries) - seemingly you’re paying for the whole bottle of salt they put on them. Lovely aioli though. The male server at the counter was lovely and helpful but the atmosphere was just nonexistent, other servers were blunt, and the clientele just ugh. Forgot to mention! The toilet. Can understand you’ve not got the biggest place, but that toilet was a mess. I had to tidy it up myself, picking up all the napkins off the floor and straightening up the toilet roll holder which had tissue all over the floor in the wet patches. Just seems to be lacking in standards. Shame there’s not many other options in the area but definitely wouldn’t...

I've visited this establishment every year since 2008, when it was Louise's Tea Store, because, as far as I know, they have a monopoly on a cooked breakfast in Ullapool. Over the years the value for money has reduced (a breakfast used to come with toast and tea, now it comes with neither), and the price has risen as the current owners (since 2021) have pushed the place "up market". Prices for breakfasts elsewhere (but not in Ullapool) are lower and you get more food for the money. Prices at "Cult" are given on the menu in just pound figures - so a breakfast in late November 2022 was "11". Not £11.00 nor even £11. That said, the food was good (even if in the portions are small). If you would like a cooked breakfast in Ullapool at 9.00am there is little competition, but go there aware of the price you will pay and the food you will...

We were passing through Ullapool and loved the look of this wee cafe, very cool and current! I had sourdough with avocado and feta with poached egg and my Husband had the full breakfast. I also had an oat milk flat white! We received our drinks soon after they had been ordered but then had to wait a considerable amount of time for our food to come out, I could see another dining couple also had some time to wait too. A member of staff apologised and we didn’t mind as we were enjoying our time and weren’t in a rush. Upon receiving our food, all was forgotten as it was very tasty!

We did see a member of FOH staff handle food in the kitchen that was being prepped for another breakfast at the time, I felt this was a bit careless/unhygienic and surely basic common sense not to do, especially if handling money/clearing dirty...

A fantastic little find in Ullapool. We tried to pop by for lunch a couple of times during our trip but the kitchen closed at 2.30pm, so we didn't manage to eat there until the final day of our holiday - but it was well worth the wait! A fantastic breakfast/brunch, all cooked fresh to order. I had the vegan option of avocado smash with a portabello mushroom on the side. The avocado smash was rich and creamy, with delicious chewy sourdough bread and some zesty pesto and seeds. My partner had the Eggs Hebridean option - poached eggs and local black pudding on sourdough with hollandaise sauce. I'm told it was stunning - eggs perfectly cooked and black pudding full of flavour. Our oat milk coffees were also lovely. It wasn't cheap for breakfast, but it was a very special treat and we'll definitely be back.

Upon entering we were hit with a pleasant smell coming from the bakery along with the aesthetic sage decor. It was really busy even early in the morning and we could tell why it's so popular due to the food being served. Luckily as soon as someone left the staff cleared the table leaving us somewhere to sit. My partner ordered a traditional breakfast , he said it was the best one he's had while doing the nc500 !!! I ordered the French toast , it was decadent and beautifully presented, matching its sweet taste. Although the French toast was really sweet the cream on the side as well as the rich cappuccino I got balanced it beautifully . Really huge portions as well as quality ingredients making it well worth the price paid. If I come back to Scotland, I'd definitely seek this place out again !!!
