Found this place late yesterday afternoon and it looked fab so we made sure to stop off for refreshments after checking out of Broomfield campsite as it’s literally at the end of the drive.

I had a decaf oat mylk hazelnut latte, son had a hot choc with marshmallows + whipped cream, hub had a decaf americano with milk and a haggis’n’lorne sausage roll with brown sauce which he inhaled in about four seconds, commenting it was the nicest takeaway roll he’d had on our trip so far!

All food is freshly prepared to order. They have a selection of rolls, burgers, salads and breakfasts. They advertise a ā€œvegetarianā€ breakfast but the staff are very clear when ordering that it’s cooked on the same griddle as meat products so I’d respectfully suggest they advertise it as ā€œmeat freeā€ because of the cross-contamination. This is in no way a criticism. The kitchen area is small and doesn’t allow for separate cooking areas.

The inside has a few tables and is quite snug so allows for a real intimate setting. There are seats outside in a covered over decking area.

They offer a few vegan options for burger and sandwiches/salads but I’d check about the prep. They had TWO vegan cake options this morning!! I’m not really a cake person but still have a nose to see that my options are for when I fancy one.

The staff are absolute sweethearts! There was a slight wait for which they apologised but there’s absolutely no need! It was a Sunday morning of the early August bank holiday weekend on a rainy summer’s day and as I say it’s all cooked fresh to order. It’s also lovely to see a business thriving.

The prices are incredibly reasonable! Like ā€œnormalā€ cafe prices in my local area and don’t seem to be ā€˜tourist prices’ like some of the places we visited in the village.

Can’t recommend this place enough! Next time we’re in the area we’ll definitely come back in!

We wish you a wonderful weekend and continued deserved success with...

Looked like a great little cafe but in the interest of fairness, it’s important to share negative experiences too.

We were keen to try a Full Scottish and had been recommended this place by our guest house host. We also looked at reviews of local spots and this place stood out.

We arrived at around 10 am and joined a small queue. There wasn’t any organisation to the queue and it was a bit of a free for all when a table became available, but I accept the staff were busy.

We got a table within about 15 minutes and went straight to the counter to order four Full Scottish breakfasts. We were told they were short staffed and weren’t doing Full Scottish breakfasts anymore.

Not only was this disappointing but we then saw multiple Scottish breakfasts being brought to other tables as we were contemplating what to do.

Safe to say we left out of principle without buying anything.

Very disappointing...

Small group of us traveling on the NC500 on motorbikes, day 3 in Ullapool & we were directed to The Bothy by a local.

Wow, it is only slightly off the beaten track but so worth the effort to find.

We visited for breakfast/brunch, each person received a well cooked meal, my all day breakfast was cooked to perfection with a nice big cup of tea for less than a nearby harbour front place was charging for just breakfast.

I'm assuming it's a family run venture, every member of staff was pleasant & felt very welcomed.

The slightly quirky decor added to the relaxed atmosphere.

I rarely approach the owners but I had to let them that I had the best breakfast in a long time & that they are doing an...

Exactly what we wanted! A small cozy coffee shop in the wonderful Ullapool. The service was helpful and friendly and the bacon and egg rolls were fresh and tasty. Really good value for money too. We loved the pick and mix feel of the interior, gives a homely feel to this little hole in the wall. They also have gluten free options, and the fact that the chef herself gave us our meals always makes us feel welcome. The only thing I can add is that the coffee was far too hot. My wife burnt her tongue even after it rested for 10min. Dial that down a little and all will be good.

Went here for breakfast after having stayed at the motorhome park right by it. It is at the entrance of the park so it is a good spot. It is pretty small inside. Only 3 tables. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I got the Scottish Breakfast. It was delicious. Didn't come with beans though, which is no big deal. Coffee is good and served piping hot so you can warm up on those chilly days. Be patient with your orders. The small crew works quick and they obviously have a large amount of customers due to the proximity of the motorhome park.
