The high rating for this café is probably for people that are happy with cheap caff food, lots of bacon and sausages, at gourmet prices. I'm sure the soups, cakes and sandwiches are fine but I made the mistake of ordering the big veggie breakfast and it came with mushrooms that looked like carefully trimmed tiny pieces of dead flesh; grey, devoid of flavour and probably from a tin, though not that good. Warm baked beans also straight out of the tin. A barely ripe tomato cut in half, warmed and white toast with cold butter and preopened jam. The fried egg was ok, but the fried veggie thing tasted of stale oil cooked at low temperature. The flat white was indeed flat, so hot that the milk was still boiling and tasted like the instant version of barista. The price was on a par with many high end cafés in the city, but clearly not up to par. Extra star for the cosy decor and friendly canteen-style service even though a toilet looked like it might be via...

This cafe is a little off the high street which means it escapes being overwhelmed by the bus loads of tourists that arrive at the other end of town. However, it does only have 4 tables (set for 4) which meant I had to try a couple of times to get in. I timed it right on the second time and it was well worth the wait.

The big veggie breakfast presents excellent value and was beautifully presented with a hot chocolate and two slices of toast with individual pots of jam and marmalade. Service was prompt and the food piping hot and tasty. I would seek this place out again when I'm next in the area. I visited on a...

Establishment that does not try to hide their disdain for tourists. We had a quick stop and tried to avoid the crowds. Came here because of the reviews and was disappointed. I understand that the food is cooked fresh and takes awhile, sure. I ordered a coffee and a chocolate bar, then asked if there was a restroom on site for my mother to use. The person who rang us up stated there was only one bathroom and that it was occupied. ("Sorry!"). Walked into the restroom- definitely was not occupied 🙄. If you're just passing through, do yourself a favor and avoid this...

Visited here after a long few days on hills, and it was just what we needed. The food was delicious, the coffee was excellent, and the service was just as good. It's a tucked away cafe, off the high street. But if you're not local and need a big feed pre / post hills, then this is the place. Highly recommend. I would suggest that the haggis is part of the breakfast as standard, being from south of the border, it's always a treat enjoying a Scotish breakfast. I had to add it as an extra, which surprised me.

Had a lovely evening being entertained by both Nico (part of the Callander Jazz and Blues Festival) and the awesome friendly staff. Great food and drinks, the delicious salmon fish cakes accompanied by possibly the best tartare sauce went down a treat, tastey gluten and dairy free options meant that we all left with happy tummies. Will be returning again and again for sure.

I've been living in a tent for two weeks, feeling absolutely awful. But today, I finally left the tent and started to feel like myself again! I decided to treat myself and hunt down the best coffee cake and tea, which led me to Deli Ecosse. It was exactly what I needed, and honestly, it’s the best bloody coffee cake I’ve ever had! Thank you so much 🙏🏻☺️✌🏻
