Disappointed, never thought I'd ever say this about the old bank. Used to visit here regularly, over many years and enjoyed the menu with plain hearty good food. Went in today to find the menu had changed beyond recognition, nothing on the menu to make us stay. Walked out really disappointed, as used to love visiting the trossachs and finishing our day with a trip to the bank. The waiting staff weren't very attentive and didn't seem to know what they were doing and had to be prompted by a regular member of staff that tables were waiting for menus etc. Wish they'd change menu back to what it had became famous for, we notice that it is the original menu, with original prices etc, on their website and their high tea shows as 3.30 till close and when we went in the menu now shows as 4.00...

We have been before and enjoyed the good food and the services of the friendly staff. Our last visit, however, was a big disappointment. To be fair, the restaurant was extremely busy and we knew we would have to wait to be served. We were given menus, chose quickly and waited. And waited. Then we saw not one but two tables served before us when we had been in and seated at least 15 before these people had even arrived. We were not happy and spoke to a member of staff. There was no apology just a statement of the fact that they were busy. On that basis, we would not recommend this restaurant at busy times as the staff seem unable to cope, and to work on a first come, first...

Peter and I had coffee and cream scones here. It was quite acceptable apart from the strawberry jam which was edible but unpleasant. Whoever had made it had been distracted while adding the setting agent and we were served a translucent, seedless, insipid, gelatinous red goo. Service was good - in fact three waitresses tried to take our order in the first five minutes which says a lot for staff morale and enthusiasm or, more likely, the ladies were hoping to impress Peter who is a finely chiselled Adonis and an infamous babe magnet. Coffee was good and the ambiance was excellent if you’re a pensioner with a hearing aid. 3 out of 5 from the...

Food was nice and hearty. We had the duck and the venison/pheasant casserole. Note that the gluten free menu is only for lunch, which isn't clear on the website and the staff weren't very proactive with suggesting gluten free options on the standard menu. The "freshly squeezed" orange juice is definitely not freshly squeezed. Overall worth going though, make sure you have plenty of room!

Popped in here for dinner, on the way back to Glasgow from a day out at The Trossachs. Had a very big & filling meal. Portion size is excellent. Staff pleasant. Restaurant was surprisingly quiet for a Sunday at late afternoon, when it was such a good day. Burgers were proper butcher meat. I had the ale and steak pie, came with chips and loads of vegetables. Would recommend. Thankyou
