After a long run in the forest above Callendar I popped in to Mhor Bread & Store to sit down and relax for a bit.....i have just eaten one of their famous home-made steak pies....This was without any doubt THE most delicious pie I have ever eaten in the history of my life....the pastry was buttery and flaky yet firm, the slow cooked chuncks of beef were incredibly tender and fell apart in my mouth. Previous pies from other establishments that i have eaten have been too heavy on the gravy and I have ended up with a gravy chin burn, but this pie had exactly the right ratio of gravy to filling. I then moved onto a bacon roll with ketchup....it was in the softest bread roll which was buttered with real butter (not margarine) and the back-bacon was thick and obviously of the highest quality...i added ketchup and took my first bite... again, my mind was blown as this was without doubt the best bacon roll I have ever tasted in my life.....I have now finished both the pie and roll and am considering buying 5 more pies (not all for today) Ps...the coffee is also delicious - smooth and slightly nutty notes the perfect accompaniment to my pie and bacon roll. I sit here a very happy man. I will be back! Soon!

Some really nice things on offer, a bit pricey We only ordered a couple of things, and while they were nice, and the selection certainly looks very appealing, overall I felt the price didn't really reflect the quality. Fully prepared to amend this on a second visit, so the jury's still out. Rhubarb frangipan, 6/10 not completely irredeemable, but the fruit could have been sharper and it was a bit dry Bread dipper, 7/10, oil and vinegar infused with tarragon and peppercorns, this was very tasty, I used it in a sausage and broccoli side dish that I cooked at home which gave it a lovely flavour. However at £9 for a bottle of this size, I'm not entirely sure it's worth the money. The café itself was OK, the seating area didn't look particularly comfortable, no wifi. Staff behind the counter were nice though.

The bread, scones, and cakes all looked amazing. We had the bakewell tarts they were delicious and yummy with a latte coffee. You won't be able to resist! We sat at the long table, which was OK, but we would have preferred separate tables. Take-away coffee cups with sugar cubes wrapped in plastic and wooden spoon! And paper bags for the cakes with wooden knives. It's not the most environmentally friendly. Really prefer crockery & steel cutlery, than the throw-away culture. We did like the artwork and unusual objects (as seen in the photos). Ps. We would like to suggest to the Mhor bakery to have something along the open space nearest to the door on the left-hand side, to stop dogs from putting their noses onto the bread, like what we had seen!!

I will start by saying, the food here is absolutley breathtaking. The pies are delicious as are all of their fresh baked goods. They have a great variety and everything is fresh and amazing.

Most of the waitors are very friendly and seem very happy and interested in their job however there are two who seemed a bit moody and disinterested hence the 4 instead of 5 star for service.

The atmosphere is okay, the decor is good with a nice healthy balance and a warm, welcoming feel however they do have some modern interpretations of great art pieces which have been ruined with the modern input. It is also quite crammed with two rooms. One for eating and one for ordering. The eating room only has i think four tables. 3 of which sit three people and the other is one very large long table which would sit many a large family. Then there is a big table in the centre with things they have for sale on it, this makes the room feel very very tight and uncomfortable. The other room is very small and so when waiting in queue it tends to be packed and uncomfortable as you have to squeeze into people to let others in or out. The queues here represent the quality of their food. They are HUGE with them often going out of the door but these queues in such a small, stuffy shop tend to assist greatly in the...

Awful customer service. Staff really let down what otherwise looks like a lovely bakery. Firstly, the radio playing was far too loud, which in turn meant everyone was having to shout to order, making it difficult to hear or be heard. Especially with masks on! Secondly, having stood patiently waiting, when I stepped up to the counter, I asked if they had 'anything' Gluten free, the girl had to ask what I'd said, I pulled down my mask and pointed out that the girl serving right next to the music on the other counter was 'very loud' this was probably due to her competing with the music above her. She ignored that and I repeated my request, to which she said in a sharp reply 'No, we don't do Gluten free' and just turned to the next customer. I had wanted something else but I most certainly wasnt going to bother buying anything now! Then, as my friend and I left the shop, we were still on the steps at the door and I was saying to her how rude they had been, a lady on her way in said to me "Oh thats the norm in here" All I can say is, I was only passing through, but if I lived there, I'd most definitely speak to the owner about the shocking attitude of the girl and the loud music, and no matter how wonderful their produce, I'd happily...
