I’m a little bit flipping back and forth about this review.

We came here and asked for a table , getting one right away , we made our order. A large breakfast, Cup of tea, a cheese panini ,and a hot chocolate.

Sitting and waiting we notice it’s a very clean and pleasant cafe, and quite popular too , by the looks of it.

The staff, I say staff, it looked like the manager and her cook only , and the manager seemed to be running around a little bit chasing herself.

Our drinks came and the tea was nice but I just did not get the cup to drink it in, no handle and it would be something I’d only expect at home. The hot Chocolate was luke warm and weak to say the least , but certainly not anywhere near hot.

The food. The manager came to the table With the panini (which was in fact a baguette sliced open , maybe we thought that’s what they call a panini here?) but it was burnt , really burnt on the edges, in fact the manager herself even asked my partner if it was too burnt for her? Yes of course the response was. But come on if you are having to ask the customer if it’s too burnt, then surely you already know it’s burnt and should not be sent out to a customer! Later she came out with a fresh one ( by then I’d almost finished my breakfast) which had some cheese melted and some not so melted, but certainly not like a panini!

The large breakfast The hash brown was really nice and the haggis was amazing, the egg was cooked perfectly and really good. The bacon was not that good ( I’m not sure if this was just my personal taste of bacon as it was smoked bacon,or certainly tasted smoked) and the sausage was really hard and chewy. Yes I ate it all, I was so hungry I’d have eaten anything. Not a lot of choice either , a very small amount of food for a breakfast.

The price £22.05 for a large breakfast one panini that was not a panini a cup of tea and a hot chocolate. :-(

I feel they’re trying hard to achieve something better than they are providing, it’s a shame as you can see they are really trying to do this but in my opinion it’s not there yet.

Would I visit again? Sadly not as it is...

Pleasant enough place. Only one serving tables when we arrived (did go up to two eventually), so if they were making coffee for one table, was a bit of a wait for the other to give order. Noticed they had poached smoked haddock + poached eggs on menu. Although it came with a sauce + cheese scone, I wondered if I could have just the fish + eggs. Yes I could, wonderful, however, this seemed to confuse the kitchen. They wanted to improve its presentation, but we got there in the end. Would have been nice to have full slice of fish, or at least more of it + poached eggs runny, but was tasty enough, eaten and enjoyed. Did feel bit unfair that despite not taking the salad, scone, sauce, etc., I was still charged full amount as if I had. Cooked breakfasts had by others were OK. Scrambled egg with smoked salmon, was a bit lacking in smoked salmon, but enjoyed Particular brand of coffee wasn't to our liking, but that's just personal taste. Two of us went on to have cake which was fine, albeit not a vast selection. Was hoping for doughnuts as per photo on website, but alas they don't make them as a regular. So don't be fooled into thinking what you see in the photo is what you'll get in the restaurant. Not the cheapest, wouldn't necessarily say cost is reflected in quality. But did the job on...

If you are gluten free coeliac this is the place to go! Staff were so incredibly accomadating I can't thank them enough for my amazing meal and service. All I had to do was mention that I am gluten intolerant and instantly was met with smiles and substitutions to create a fantastic meal. Even had a separate fryer so I could have proper chips for the first time in a long time. Highly recommend. Will be revisiting before we leave Scotland to try the gf cakes as I was so stuffed from my meal I couldn't eat another bite. Massive thanks to the chef and owners. Really made my day and haven't...

This lovely Cafe in Agnew Park at Stranraer sea front is very popular with locals and with tourists passing through. Callum is the chef and his wife Magda runs the Cafe/Bistro. It is affordable and very good quality food here, with a Meat or a Vegetarian menu available and some gluten free options. Or you can just opt for a coffee and a cake or scone. Lots of customers outside when we visited, with bikes and dogs welcome. Huge car park nearby and public toilets.

Stopped with out booking and we were in luck, they had a slot. Amazing service, lovely location and awesome food. I am a huge fan of 'diner' food, and their fully stacked burger was awesome! With a play park and some great grassy areas why would you not visit... Just remember to book!
