What a great find in Stranraer! Having tried various eateries around the area Fig & Olive was a cut above the rest. Firstly there's a warm friendly atmosphere for both humans a d their pets. We were quickly sprayed and shown menus. The choice was fantastic. The soup of the day was the best we'd had - rich, flavoursome and thick. The home made sausage roll of the day was also a hit. We didn't try the savoury tart of the day but it looked great. Buttermilk pancakes, toastie of the day all went down a storm with our group. We appreciated some individual, unusual menu items as it showed the owners took a pride in their offering. The coffee was top notch - Dear Green coffee. Another sign the owners strive to deliver the best. We moved our visit and look forward to returning to try other specials of the day. Thank you. We...

We stumbled upon Fig & Olive while looking for a spot to have breakfast before leaving Stranraer and what a find! The coffee was excellent, the breakfast dishes were delicious, and it had such a cozy ambiance. I loved the charming artwork on the walls and the steady stream of dogs that came in with their owners (yes, it is dog-friendly!)

I ordered the chicken club sandwich, which was really nice - perfectly toasted multigrain bread filled with fresh grilled chicken, crispy bacon, and greens. Everyone at our table enjoyed their meals and the service was pleasant.

If you find yourself in Stranraer, I highly recommend Fig & Olive for...

Tasty food, but we waited for a very long time. Also quite expensive. The waitresses were polite enough but very disorganized: first we were told there was no soup, then only one bowl left, then they brought us a second we hadn't ordered. We asked if they had yoghurt but they just brought it to us anyway. We waited over half an hour for two sandwiches, a croissant, some soup and some mushrooms on toast which we felt was a bit long. We had already finished our drinks and had to order more. For the price I would expect a more...

I don't often give 5 stars but well deserved. Slightly away from the town centre but well worth the extra couple of hundred metres walk. Pancake stack was the best I've had outside of the USA. Gingerbread cake also superb. A well made proper Americano to accompany it rounded off a great eating experience. Lovely cosy atmosphere with very friendly and attentive staff and reasonable prices. This all adds up to a well deserved 5 stars. Will definitely call in again next time I'm in Stranraer.

Had seen this on Google maps with a excellent write up so we decided to give it a go, looks pretty ordinary from the out side but soon as you get in and see the food on view the hard job of picking something to go with your tea or coffee begins, whatever you decide I don't think you will be disappointed, I had a latte and a large piece of mocha and chocolate cake, heaven, prices not bad, shame I'm only visiting otherwise it would be a regular stop
