Sadly won’t be back. After 4 and half hour journey myself and 3 other adults travelled to meet up with other family members||We checked in and all looking forwarded to a chilled evening before meeting family the next day. ||The meals looked good so we found a table and settled for the evening to eat and watch football on the telly. The Spot we had was perfect for the view of the telly, and pub was quite busy so as expected couldn’t hear the commentary which is usual when watching the match in a pub. ||After about an hour of drinking one of the staff came to the table, placing a reserve notice on the table. As they never explained I went to speak to staff who said a regular liked to sit at that table as he has a dog with him and comes in soon. She showed us to a table in another room and although slightly annoyed we moved. The table was next to a door that slammed every time someone entered the pub due to the high winds that day and we didn’t have a good view of the telly. We left after finishing our drink, returning to our rooms. ||The next day we decided it was best if we spoke to staff to reserve a table for that evening. The manager booked our selected table and put a reserved notice onto the table. We went back to our rooms to freshen up and returned to find our ‘reservation’ had been moved to the other room again next to the door. On speaking to staff we were told a regular wanted our reserved table and regulars take priority. Annoyed that as residents and the second time we had been moved we refused to move to the other room, and were allocated to a table close to our reserved table. ||Discriminating against visitors is disgraceful, especially visitors who are spending a lot of money to stay on the premises. How are they allowed to do this. We did speak to a manager who said we shouldn’t have been told about regulars taking priority. That doesn’t make it right, staff will now lie about the reason moving visitors ||Parking at the venue is awful as parking is on the road and as it’s a residential area parking is almost none existent ||Plenty of other places with better parking and better customer service...

One of the most terrible meals I’ve had in my life. I went for the festive turkey & it was inedible. The turkey was too thinly sliced & dried out as if it had been left under the heat lamps for a long time & very cheap poor quality meat, stuffing ball was chewy & just horrible, roast potatoes were cut far too small & had clearly been deep fried in the chip fryer rather than roasted in the oven, they were so overdone there was no more potato left on the inside, just a crispy empty shell, veg also must have been put on the boil last December, never witnessed a brussel sprout or a carrot reduced to mush like that in all my days & the cauliflower cheese was the same consistency, with literally no cheese in sight. If you are going to put something like that on the menu for this time of year, then do it well or don’t do it at all. It’s embarrassing that the chef was happy to plate that pathetic monstrosity up & send that out to a customer. Poor poor quality for basic cooking. The microwave roast dinners from Farmfoods are better quality than what I was served up as a “festive turkey dinner” last night. I didn’t eat any of it & when I told the waitress how terrible it was, it was clear it wasn’t the first complaint she’d heard of the night & it was taken from the bill straight away with no fuss. Won’t be...

Cosy fantastic pub in the ferry and as a bonus, it’s dog friendly! We stopped in for a drink on a freezing cold day to get a bit of shelter and decided to have food too. The low ceilings give the bar a nice cosy feel which was ideal for a day like today. I had the slow cooked confit of pork belly which was lovely and just fell apart in your mouth. My only minor criticism is I probably would have preferred shredded cabbage or some other veg rather than the wedge, but it was still nice. Lots of other lovely looking menu options which I hope to come back and try in future.

We had an excellent bar lunch. Cullen Skink was lovely and had the most fish I've had ever had in a soup that I never made myself. Fisherman's burger with the pork belly was amazing and also huge. My wife's chicken and mushrooms pie was very tasty with a delicious sauce and a real plate full. Dessert, sticky toffee pudding & ice cream was lovely. Blackberry & Elderflower Eton Mess could not have been better. Not too sweet or sour and a great balance of meringue to cream. Excellent food and sevice with the bonus of being great value for money.

Fantastic place and service. I live in central Dundee and decided to have a day off in Broughty Ferry. Before leaving I stopped here and all tables were busy, but staff were friendly and helpful and managed to sit me in a table that would be in use some time later. Their recommendation was brilliant — I had the steak and ale pie and I this was so tasty, so filling, so different to other pubs’ pies too. The wine gravy and the grilled cabbage were delicious. EXCELLENT. Also, very nice atmosphere and pet friendly!
