A drive through Greggs? Questions needed to be answered. Why would this possibly be a good idea? To buy Greggs and not do even the tiniest bit of exercise? Can it be faster than getting out of the car and walking in? Is this in preparation for an imminent zombie apocalypse? So we tried it. Somehow the small queue took about 10 mins.
Got a sausage bap, but I had to ask for sauce. What if I'd driven away without it? Go around again? Or....get out of the car and go in the shop? See people?! Also only given one sugar for the coffee flavoured hot beverage. Wanted two, but failed to notice till down the road.
How was the sausage bap? Roll was hotter than the sausage. It was about 15% as good as you'd get from any greasy spoon or roadside takeaway. But functional. Definitely would be better prepared in.

Read moreJust been to Gregg's drive through and I can safely say will not be going back to any Gregg's bakery as since they opened have been to a couple of the other locations and everyone is the same terrible staff and have never had anything hot from them even if it comes out of the hot counter and if you ask to heat anything up they give you some excuse that they can't heat up anything due to some heating policies and that you can microwave it I go to a place like this to get something hot to eat but Gregg's fail at every turn. So will not be returning to any of there branches and will be tell others to do the same. It’s never great customer service when the server audibly sighs at you through the drive thru intercom….
I’m not sure if it was frustration that I’d ordered a sausage roll, and they had none, or that I was trying to order a few cakes for workmen at my house. Not sure where the confusion was. I was polite throughout (which is more than I can say for the member of staff). Cue the audible sigh.
Got to the window, asked the server if everything was ok. She ignored me the first time and snapped the second time. I found the situation rather amusing, but I’m sure many wouldn’t.
