On Sunday 29 October 2023, my wife,2 kids and I went to the Glentanar Brasserie for the Sunday carvery. We were told it was available until 6pm so we booked a table for then for the 4 of us.
The deco of the bar has improved and is very nice.
On sitting down we were rushed to get our food as the carvery was closing at 6pm, just as well we arrived early.
On getting our food there was no mealie or sausages which to me is a staple part of a Sunday carvery to me. The parsnips were like rubber and had blatantly been sitting out for a considerable amount of time.
Upon being asked if everything was ok with the meal, my wife told them what she thought was wrong. We were told they will tell the chef. We told them that if we had known prior to ordering that we would be getting the 'dregs' then we would not of bothered ordering/ attending.
Staff were pleasant but made no effort to want us to come back.
Paid in full and left disappointed as the meal was poor. McDonald's would have been a cheaper and better option compared to the...

The food contents were not properly described on the menu i.e the brownie came with some sort of nuts crushed overtop, and could have had serious problems if things had been different and someone was to be allergic at our table. We were initially going to leave a tip but with the time it took for them to do anything, we decided to retract it. However as we were paying there was a £15 service charge (which could have been removed if you asked staff. Which I think is a poor excuse to guild you into tipping). The food itself was nice, but the overall experience was not...
Read moreReally quite a nice atmosphere and friendly staff, but ruined by hit and miss food. When I dined in, the fish and chips were fantastic, with delicious juicy fish and lovely crispy chips
However my second experience was not so good. I ordered a medium-rare flat iron steak and the sticky toffee pudding for room service.
For one, the meal did not come with any greens, unlike stated on the menu. Also, the steak was overcooked, being medium (not medium rare as requested) and was very dry and chewy. A bit of a shame as the chips and peppercorn sauce were lovely. For the kind of money paid, I would have...
