This coffee shop is simply amazing! It’s located near the Glasgow Botanical Garden, making it a great place to start your day. We went there in the morning to grab a coffee. I got a cup of mocha, and my partner got a cappuccino. She also saw a cruffin and was excited to try it. The mocha was perfect—the right balance of chocolate and coffee. The aesthetic was also on point. The cappuccino was delicious, and my partner was very happy with her coffee. But the star of the show for us was the white chocolate and biscotti cruffin. It was the perfect blend of crispy outside and soft inside, with a pleasant flavour. The cream was a bit too sweet, but it definitely complemented the coffee. Overall, I highly recommend this coffee shop. Try out their pastries as well. The customer service was amazing—they’ll help you with recommendations if you’re having trouble deciding what to get!

Staff are incredibly nice, welcoming and accommodating. Coffee was perfectly and skillfully prepared. With regards to beans and taste though, it was a classic taste. too bitter. Couldn’t enjoy it much. And I believe it is a blend not a single origin. Nothing spacial or distinctive about it. It wasn’t my preferred tasting-notes. I am not sure if it is only one type that they offer on espresso, or is it that they have other options of coffee beans available. I might ask next time I visit.

1841 is a cracking coffee shop. There are so many coffee options for all tastes. The service is always so friendly and accomodating. They offer a complimentary glass of cold Scottish water, sparkling or still on the side, too. Rush past the other coffee chains on Byres Road and get your caffeine hit from this independent gem. Weather pending sit outside and watch the world go by!

I’ve been going to this little coffee shop since they opened up but today was the worst experience I’ve ever received in there by their badly trained staff! I went in with my wife and ordered 2 flat whites, 1 oat milk and 2 cakes. They brought out 2 coffees then I proceeded to ask which was the oat milk one and the girl was surprised that one was meant to be oat milk so she took both back and then brought one back over and said that i quote “you never said oat milk” I’m sorry but I think I know my own dietery requirements!! Needless to say to say that I was annoyed about the comment! I’m not expecting an apology from the staff(which I didn’t get) but for the staff to acknowledge their mistake and say that they will get the oat one out straight away, not for both the counter girl and serving girl to make up excuses! If the staff are going to call me a liar then I don’t think I will be bringing my business back to them. Such a let down when staff are rude and...

It's very good. Like, VERY good.

The most admirable characteristic about 1841 is those who work there—I mean that genuinely. Every time I have been, whoever is serving is always lovely. Smiling and genuine. I imagine that 1841 is built upon this friendliness.

Luckily for us the coffee is excellent, too! The is one of my go to places for coffee when I am in the West End.

What I will say is, if you are looking for a nice cosy spot to sit down and stay for a couple of hours, this probably isn't the best choice. However, if you want to sit down, grab a coffee, read a few pages of a book, grab a light snack and be gone in 20-30 mins, it's a lovely place to be.

It's usually busy, but that's a given based on the great coffee and excellent team.

They have lovely food and snacks available to compliment their lovely coffee, so, if you're around Glasgow and need a quick coffee and to rest your weary feet for 30 mins, it's a great...
