What a gaff. Rocking n popping the second you go in. Karaoke blasting, MCs trying to spit 64 bars, fights going off, chairs getting thrown. Cheap bevs, sick all over the toilet. Would go back any day of the week

I've been here numerous times, it the place I use as for food and drinks when I'm in or around Dumfries. Staff are amazing and the locals are hilariously friendly.

A traditional old pub with lovely service. Craig the barman was super friendly and took the time to have a chat. The locals are also friendly.

This used to be a lovely venue to go to on a Sunday but has gone down hill in recent months, they have bingo on a Sunday which used to be fun but has become horrendous since getting a new caller, the new caller has let her position go to her head with constant barrages of telling people what they can+ can't do it's ridiculous they r grown adults that frequent this pub not 2yr old children, the owner needs to have a look at how this person is treating his customers it's not boding well for his business, I have been attending this pub for a number of years as have several other ladies+ gents+ they too have stopped going due to the atmosphere this new caller has created, the fowl language that comes from her mouth at times is disgusting, for a very reputable establishment this is giving this public house a very tainted reputation, numbers r dwindelling due to this caller+ her heavy handed ways+ awful treatment towards customers, we miss our Sunday there but no one wants to fork out money to be spoken to in this manner it's...

Coming from a rather snooty part of England, I came here once on a Saturday night, at the suggestion of my gf, a local Dumfries lassie. Yes, it is raucous, yes, I can imagine that tempers can get frayed because of the overcrowding, but boy, this place has balls, character and local Scottish hardboys by the bucket full. And that, is what is lacking these days dooon' soooth. Long may this sweat box, with its karaoke and bra less women, survive. A welcome throwback to when the UK was truly a great drinking...

Always full of atmosphere on a weekend. Hard to get served any alcohol due to the quantity of people in such a tight space. Although the bar staff are very quick in getting through the customers so credit to them. Karaoke is a guarenteed, so if you can sing and don't mind a couple hundred people watching then step up. I can't comment on the food although being local I have heard it's the place to be for a Scottish fry up. Very unique and always welcoming, it's a must for all...
