Clean, well appointed room. Very good breakfasts, with a number of choices. Friendly host with lots of local knowledge. The house has terrific Victorian charm, including the carved crown moulding in the dining room. AND it's across the street from the train station. Perfect! Note: if you can't do stairs, this place might not be for you.

From the moment we arrived at the Ferintosh guest house we were made to feel very welcome by Robertson the owner. He is a very interesting, knowledgeable, likeable and accommodating host. ||The communal areas were well maintained and very clean with nice pictures, photographs and ornamentation. The front garden was well maintained and a lovely place to sit, relax and watch the world go by. The bedroom was spacious, clean and tidy, we loved all the little extras, biscuits, chocolates and hot chocolate. The ensuite bathroom had all little extras, no need to bring facecloths and toiletries. ||The breakfast is plentiful and well cooked, nice to have real bread for the toast. ||||Thank you to Robertson for a great covid safe holiday. Thank you to the cleaner for doing a great job. Thank you to Mia the dog for letting us have a stroke.||||Well done keep up the good work, we will be back.||||Fred...

A handsome Victorian house opposite the railway station. Beautiful red brick with intricate stonework. Inside is spotless and well maintained with lots of original features and Scottish memorabilia (special call-out to the crossed claymores in the breakfast room). ||The welcome was warm and the breakfast was freshly cooked to order and all sourced from fantastic local produce. The owner, Robertson, was charming and knowledgeable about the local area. We had a great morning at Caerlaverock castle! Thank you!||A proper, traditional B&B. Would have given 5 stars but the mattress...

I stayed here recently with my partner for a three night stay in Dumfries. |We were made to feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble for our host. |The room had everything that we could expect and was modern and clean. |Breakfast was carefully prepared and there were a range of options for fresh cooked food each morning. |This B&B is full of character and charisma. It felt like a "home from home" and there was information about the local area and places to visit available. |Highly recommended and dog...
