Really nice place to chill out, especially with super sunny weather, slightly pricy but excellent customer service. Wanted more cream in my drink, they were happy to oblige. Kitchen slow to release food, service could be quicker especially when staff were running around like a headless chicken. Staff in kitchen are clearly disorganised as food is taking longer to come out Was the food worth the wait, let's wait and see... Plate scorching hot.. Meaning staying under heat lamp for long periods of time.. Is the food still safe.. Maybe I'll have to take a sample to the lab for pathogen testing? The food was worth the wait and beautifully presented with some chips, would like to see more diversity on the plate but that is not the staffs' fault. Nice decor, slightly loud when preparing food, nice lighting, good location, excellent range of food. Covid19 safe. Will I come again, the waitress did come over and offered us free cake for the wait, I was not expecting this hence I will say the customer service is excellent and we will be coming back here however not for a meal for 2 but with a group of people incase our food is delayed. I do have to say that the ambiance is excellent with the right crowd. A catch up session with a group of friends.. Come hereππ

We came I to Dumfries late afternoon to do a few things, so it was nice to find somewhere that was open later than most (to 6pm) so we could have a sit down and a drink. The pleasant thing for us as well at this time of day (5pm) it was really quiet in here, so easy to get served and relaxing to sit for a while. They had an afternoon offer on for a hot drink and mince pie, which we went for and we enjoyed. We had the candy cane hot chocolate and the caramel fudge latte. Both were tasty, but sticky! And the mince pies with crumble topping were good too. The only thing I would say was that when ordering, the offer for the mince pie and drink, with its times and drink flavours was displayed on the digital screens as part of the menu as a rolling advert. So it would be on the screen for a few seconds and then off again and we'd have to wait for it to come back to see the drink options so we could choose. It wasn't only us, it was the girl serving us as well as I think she wasn't used to it either. So that took us a little time to sort out and get through, but we got there in the end.

Only stopped for a Coffee and cake as part of a long drive home from Loch Lomond but due to a bit of drama, I felt I needed to write a longer review to get across how lovely the staff were. Our little Pom-Chi did her best "Houdini" act, wriggling out of her harness while we were inside ordering and did a runner across Dumfries. The staff were fabulous, consoling our distraught daughter (who was looking after the aforementioned runnaway) and held our Labrador while she came in to hell us what had happened. We came back to the Cafe after well over 30mins of panicked running around Dumfries (with the culprit safely returned due to the outstanding efforts of masses of complete strangers, who all joined in to find and catch our "Wee White Dog") and the staff sat us down, checked we were all ok after the multiple heart attacks, then made us a fresh set of Coffees and a slice of the delicious Biscoff cake that we'd ordered earlier. What a relief so thank you to Bob & Berts and all the townsfolk of Dumfries!
