Beats me where those great reviews come from. Think more motorway truck stop fare than Highland bakery fare, served by busy and unsmiling staff. My steak pie filling was dry and bland, the beans were of the bulk catering mushy variety, and the so-called chips were produced from frozen fries. Can't restaurants cut chips from real potatoes anymore? The self-service condiments were those annoying little sachets that get more sauce on one's hands than on the plate. There was no comparison with our lovely cafe meal in the nearby town of Aberlour yesterday.

Stopped here for a cup of tea - a quaint little coffee shop with a really sociable atmosphere. The tea for two made five cups in total, which is really good value. Unfortunately did not stop for food as I was going for a walk. The full breakfast looked amazing and was so jealous I did not order one. The breakfast was £8.99 which is not bad in value, just be careful on the small bits - sausage roles, cakes etc - they were expensive. In summary I will defiantly visit again and next time will have the full breakfast.

After seeing such good reviews we went by for coffee to take away. the area did not look clean, and the coffee which came from a machine was just horrible. I went back for sugar and the lady with a visor wasn't welcoming, handed me sugar and mid me trying to explain the coffee was very bitter (I was nice) she left to go back to the kitchen. the takeaway cups and cutlery are also disposable plastic Not a nice experience

Really disappointed, used to love getting egg rolls here but my last one had black pudding bits in it and pork makes me very I'll which I can't afford atm as I'm pregnant... called to ask if it happens often as we won't be able to eat there and was told people usually just bring it back to change it so guess that's a yes... asked if the utensils are shared and was told she basically didn't know as she didn't make the rolls but surely she should know if there's separate utensils as standard...? Really upset as probably going to be vomiting for days now and it's hard enough to keep food down going into 2nd trimester :'( can't recommend if you're vegetarian or have dietary restrictions due to allergy or religion as they don't cater...

I would rate less if I could as didn't get to eat. Pleasantly surprised to see this bakery open on a Sunday (8 to 4) and simply wanted a sausage roll or something for a quick snack whilst passing through at lunchtime. There are two sides to the establishment, bakery and cafe. Saw a sign on the counter of the bakery with a list of simple paninis so asked for one. A very rude unwelcoming girl serving said this wasn't possible. No reason given, just took down the sign and turned her back to me. No alternatives offered so I went across the road...

Popped in for a coffee on a dreich day in Grantown on Spey, wish we hadn’t bothered.

Ordered coffee and cake which was ok and served by enthusiastic staff but the actual cafe and bakery is well past a refit.

Everything is so worn and past it that it feels dirty. The toilets should not be entered without wellies and rubber gloves on . The hand dryer didn’t work and the place was just manky.

Unfortunately Grantown on Spey is struggling as far as nice places to eat are concerned and that’s one of the reasons tourists don’t go there all year...
