Is this the worst McDonald’s franchise in Scotland?. Consistency of service is huge here, consistently bad!. You are guaranteed sub-standard service every time. There is persistent change to how orders are handled, with the ability to add to an order at the window having apparently now been removed?. I’m baffled, you arrive at the order screen and the first thing asked is “have you ordered on the McDonalds app today?”. No is the answer, however that is a great reminder that I should collect the points. When the app is opened an ad pops-up to encourage you to take advantage of the offer of the day. Having already given my order, I asked to add the offer of the day at the window. I was told to do this if need to drive all the way around again, followed by “that’s just what we’ve been told”… “we’re not allowed to add to orders because the kitchen gets confused”. Then I was told it’s because there are two tills, one which handles orders, and the other handling payments?. Now really baffled and searching for the truth and some logic, I spoke to Cameron the Assistant Manager (you need to get a new badge by the way, what’s the point of a name badge where your name has worn off?). Anyway, more excuses and more “that’s just how it is, it’s not lies or anything”. In the end, having witnessed three members of staff bluff their way through not taking my order fully or payment, I was put off entirely my meal and cancelled. Sadly, this experience and excuses about technology are common in this particular location. Strangely, I never have a problem in the franchisee’s Morrison’s location. I can only guess the leadership in the Drip Road drive-thru is not as good. Hopefully you can take some constructive criticism here and make improvements. If your kitchen is easily confused, change the kitchen, not your customer...
Read moreI've never been to a McDonald's where the staff were so attentive. We came here recently with our young girls after a day at the Safari park and we were so so impressed with the level of service. It was very busy when we were there and we had been waiting for quite a while for our meal but before we could go up to check on it the manager came around asking everyone how their food was. He apologised and got it sorted it all for us (turns out that there was some sort of mix up but he rectified it immediately). On 2 other occasions while we were eating our meal another different members of staff checked in on us and other customers to see if they could help us with anything. The staff were very quick to clean tables and other areas (e.g. we saw one girl collecting litter that was blowing around the drive-thru). The staff were also just really kind. Once I had finished my meal I decided to order a mcflurry before we left. I sat down to breastfeed my baby while we waited and my husband was going to collect it when it was ready but our toddler needed to use the toilet so he brought her and by the time I went to the counter to collect the mcflurry it was a bit melted. The girl behind the counter noticed it had been melting and immediately made me a fresh one (which I didn't expect or ask for as it was my fault it had melted). We felt really looked after which isn't really something we expect of McDonald's as a franchise. We had a better experience here than we've had at some really high-end restaurants. Manager served me, gave me order number and then proceeded to wander around talking to the other girls who are all standing about talking. 4 of them doing absolutely nothing. Only one other person waiting at the till who waited ten minutes to be served whilst one of the staff had their back to the customer and she continued to slowly clean the counter. Then after 15 minutes of waiting for a mcflurry, one of the girls asked another one to make it. She did and then she held it in her hand whilst talking for another 5 minutes. Absolute joke! Haven't they heard of prioritizing orders before talking? The manager could have made the mcflurry within 2 minutes but nope! She's too good to...
