Green Gates Authentic Indian Restaurant-Stirling — Restaurant in Scotland

I've just had the most wonderful take away experience and I felt obliged to immediately offer my positive feedback.

I'm on holiday from the US and after a pleasant day of tourism we stopped at the grocery near Green Gates. I had read the Google reviews earlier and realizing how nearby we were I placed an online order for my family. I walked the five minutes to Green Gates while the family picked up our short list of groceries for breakfast.

I got back to the car first! Our food was ready SO FAST. When I entered Green Gates the gentleman at the counter offered me a place to sit. The interior looked nice, I imagine it's a pleasant dining experience to eat-in. Both employees I spoke to were very polite and I was shocked at how quickly my food arrived.

The second shock I had was when I lifted the take away bag. The "Set Meal For Three", especially coupled with a phone or online order discount, is an honestly unbelievable amount of food for £35. I guess I didn't read what came with it very closely, when I opened the order and just kept pulling more dishes out I became concerned that I had been given someone else's much larger order. I was impressed by the amount of variety we'd been treated to when I unpacked the bag.

Everything was delicious. Each dish had a unique profile of spices. Saag Paneer is always a personal favorite and it was no exception here. My only regret is that I failed to order anything with heat, in the US "Chili chicken" is usually take-your-face-off hot. The Green Gates version has a lovely garlic flavor instead.

Thank you Green Gates for the wonderful food. I've spent twice as much at other restaurants during this trip to feed my crew, and this is the first time I'm going to have leftovers. I'm heartbroken that I live...

I knew I shouldn’t have listened to the wife but she was very impress with the dozens and more positive comments left by Asian reviewers. So after many years since we were very ,very , regular customers we decided to try again since our last poor experience. We visited on Friday night shortly after six ,me the wife and my 10 y.o. grand daughter. On entering a completely empty restaurant we were seated on a table looking right over a nice bare wall. Yes i know i go out for the food but given the choice of other spaces it really was a great impression. The drinks ordered and served were almost a half pint of lager, a supposed to be Sauvignon Blank of non descriptive taste and served room temperature, and a Fanta. I tried to order a traditional lamb dish but following a couple of very firm recommendations from the waitress i settled for the " everybody favourite lamb shank." Unfortunately the shank was not cooked properly and the meat which usually pulls off the bone could not even be sliced with the help of the knife and fork provided. I returned 90% of it with no questions asked by the staff. It must be the norm i thought. The fact that this dish was also 4 pounds more expensive than the one i was intending to order did not help either. My wife biriany King Prawns was served in a small urn like jar with the rice and the King Prawns stuffed inside and quite a mess was to be made to try to fish out the prawns to dip in the sauce. Not a great loss as she too left most of her food but the prawns. My gran daughter butter chicken was indeed on a par with any of the other delivered by any of the takeaways in Stirling. We decided to pass on everything else and including a single portion of pakora we left 85 pounds lighter.The beauty of dining out...

I came here for my partner's birthday meal, having heard great things about it. The detail to the menu was a great touch.

We elected to select our own food choices rather than the set menu, and nearly all dishes were perfect. The butter chicken was my favourite by far! At the end of the meal my partner was surprised with a special birthday dessert, which he had no idea about. It really finished off a wonderful evening for us.
