Phoned Mitchell's this morning to book a table for 3 for afternoon tea, to be told that they don't take bookings for less than 5.....OK, although we were travelling to Broughty Ferry I thought, fine we will just hope for the best. Called in about 2.30/2.45, managed to get a table. We were given menus and time to peruse! When the lady came to take our order we asked about the afternoon tea to be told it was for two, four etc, but we could add in an extra sandwich to make it for three.....how to make you feel special!!!! Asked why they take bookings for 5 or more for afternoon tea, but they are served in multiples of 2 to be told....."I don't know, I don't make the rules" was a bit unsatisfactory. I had tried to boom for 3 and nothing had been said!!!!! A day out planned with girlfriends for the last day of the holidays was nearly ruined, luckily we found Bruach where we had delightful bar bites, tacos and scones with some prosecco to...

We booked an afternoon tea for my friends mum who was celebrating her 80th birthday to find that’s not what we are getting at all what is advertised, we got to choose a sandwich which was dry and the filling very wet and tasteless, and I have never had a bowl of salad before on an afternoon tea the cakes were huge and the homemade scones boasted are shop bought as I watched them take them from the packet. I questioned this is not what is advertised and the sharp response I got was this is how we do afternoon tea, I responded and showed them their own website details and this is not at all what we have so maybe update your website! Very disappointed, it took ages we were there nearly 3 hours for this disaster afternoon tea 😢 Was gutted as we all love a glorified picnic and didn’t cause too much fuss as didn’t want to ruin...

Came in around 11.15am for a brunch - Veggie fry up/forgans fry up. Ended up waiting around 40/50 minutes for the food. We were offered coffee on the house. We accepted however also asked for a glass of water which never arrived. When we received our food after the long wait there was several things missing from our plate including veggie sausages (what was on the plate was cut up bubble and squeak), toast, black pudding and haggis. The remainder of the food given had been sitting under a hot lamp causing the food to be dry and hard to enjoy. No one came to check on us or how our food was. When we paid, the server didn't ask how the meal was, just said the price and waiting for payment. It cost £27.40. Very disappointed with service and food especially after reading...

What a hidden gem. Great coffee and an ever better selection of cakes I had the coconut and rasberry bakewell which got ruined with a delightful smile; along with an iced latte. Very friendly service. I loved the decor in here aswell. My friend had the double carrot cake and salted caramel milkshake smiled with delight the minute it took hold of her tastebuds.

Had lunch and cake/coffee at this large, busy cafe in Broughty ferry. Staff were lovely and it had great furnishings. The food was tasty. I had toasted sandwich with vegetable crisps which was delicious, and then bakewell slice and coffee! A very satisfying afternoon. It’s connected to its sister restaurant in one large complex, and the whole place is great.

What a beautiful little coffee shop. I had the best pecan pie with a perfect cappuccino. Pleasant staff too. However, the brownie was very rich, maybe too rich? I was also surprised to see an automatically applied service charge. Feels quite guilt trippy.
