Mullberries — Restaurant in Scotland

Had a session at the planetarium and ended up being late because it took over half an hour for the food only to come to the wrong table. We had to move to a different table because of a giant wasp bothering us and we informed staff because of this and the table next to us TOOK IN and ATE OUR food without them even paying for it. Then my hot chocolate came only it to be NOT made with oat milk (I’m lactose intolerant) and I react badly to dairy milk with lactose, so that hot chocolate had to be remade so that took another 5 minutes and by the time I got to the planetarium I had to put the chips in my bag and I had to pour the (way too hot) hot...

Lovely little cafe. We turned up a little late for a breakfast roll but there were plenty of other good menu choices. In common with a lot of other places in the town, this was cash only, which had us all scrambling around in our pockets to see if/what we could eat. The idea of all chipping in to buy lunch was slightly off-putting, almost a bit embarrassing - this was ultimately reflected in our conservative order. Being on holiday usually means out-out but left feeling a little disappointed in our failure to explore the full range of delights...

A very pretty and well located cafe that is definitely worth a visit if you're in Kirkcudbright and would be a regular haunt of mine if I lived here. The portions are very large (perhaps too big?), and the coffee is delicious. The staff were really great - not overbearing, their polite demeanor didn't feel forced, and their service was fast. They don't have wi-fi, but the network signal in the area is great so I could tether from my phone as I worked there. Didn't look for plug sockets nor saw what the toilets were like so can't...
