I'll start with the positives... It's only fair...we had booked a Christmas night with live music. Seated quickly in arrival and where we were sitting was just perfect. Took a wee while for our order to be taken but a busy Saturday night that's fair enough. To keep it short our food was delicious and can't fault it. The subsequent service and ''live music' however is what let ,what should have been a great night, down. The majority of the young staff were pleasant and polite although service was slow at times. However there was one member of staff who was extremely rude and abrupt. The restaurant don't serve beer on draft only in cans. My dad had ordered a beer shandy however was brought a full glass of beer with a small jug full of lemonade. I tried to explain to the bar staff that this isn't what was asked for and asked for a ''half n half' shandy.... Not an unacceptable request. However this member of staff took it upon herself to tell me that because they had to open a can of beer to make a shandy that I would need to pay for it as it was a waste as they would have to pour the rest down the sink.... The relevance of this remark to a customer?? Eh... None.... Her manner was rude and abrupt. Ordered vegetable lasagne to be told that was a typing mistake and I could have any other vegetarian dish apart from that??? Doesn't take too long to cook that and judging by the time they took to serve us our main it could have easily been done. The ''live music' supposed to come on at 8... Came on at 9 and was truly awful. It was basically an open mic night with a bunch of folk trying to play accoustic guitar and screeching down the mic. Sound was terrible that when we complained to the waitress the speakers were switched off in the restaurant area and normal recorded music played through instead. To charge an extra £5 for this was quite frankly a joke. We thought we were going for a good Christmas night out but unfortunately it could have been any night of the week. No Christmas tunes or atmosphere. I wish I had went on the santa breakfast trip that my friend's 9yr old daughter went on as it looked fab. As I said the food was great, one member of staff, the music and the extra £5 for the earache ruined what could have been a...
Read moreHad a really unpleasant experience with the manager. Had a pleasant dining experience in the past and expected good customer service from them when using the take away service they were encouraging people to use to support their business while they were closed during Covid19 lockdown. Order arrived, so far so good. Noticed that one of the desserts ordered was not there. My husband called to let them know it was not there, expecting it would be a case of, "sorry. We'll bring it over". End of story. Instead, the person who answered the phone says the other dessert we ordered counts as 2 desserts. My husband pointed out that when he ordered it through their website, nothing indicated that fact and questioned why it then allowed him to put it through if we were not permitted to order it. The person then got snippy and said, "it is pretty clear on the website" and did not offer to send the second dessert through. Once my husband was off the phone he checked the receipt, which confirmed we had ordered a second dessert. We also went through the order process again online to confirm we had not missed something. Called again and asked to speak to the manager this time because the last person had been so rude and unhelpful. Turns out, rude unhelpful person was the manager. This time he said it was clear on the app. Pointed out it was ordered off the website not the app and that the dessert was on the receipt. He then backed down a bit and begrudgingly said they would try and get the second dessert out to us but they are busy. His his exact words were, "well, what do you want me to do about it?" Erm, deliver what we order and show a bit of courtesy to a paying customer? He then said he was too busy to sit about arguing. The call lasted just under 2 minutes. Not very interested in the dessert by this point. Genuinely shocked. We had a pleasant dining experience with them in the past (obviously never encountered the manager), have recommended them to others (won't be doing that again) and we were supporting their business during lockdown. In return, got poor service and treated like dirt by the manager. Don't care too much for them now. I do...
Read moreOrdered meal for two on website. Decided to have two deserts the Nutella thing and a sticky toffee pudding. Nutella arrived but no pudding. Called expecting to be told "sorry delivery driver forgot it on back seat of car". Instead I got what seemed like a child telling me it is pretty clear that the Nutella desert counts as two with no offer of my pudding. Initially decided to let it go but after hanging up and thinking further about it I checked receipt and yup sticky toffee pudding was on it. So thought maybe I missed the warning that was "pretty clear" on web site and tried a mock order again. Nope no warning. Called back to ask to talk to manager, turns out the childlike person I talked to before was the manager. Since I don't like being lied to I told him that and to please send the order as paid for and shown on receipt. Initially he said he couldn't. When I pointed out that the receipt shows a sticky toffee pudding and that the website allowed for two deserts his initial response was that it had to have something in to progress order?? Eventually he rudely asked "what I expected him to do about it". My response was to ask for my sticky toffee pudding as ordered. He said he was too busy and it would arrive whenever and that he had wasted enough time on my call. It's still not here. I imagine him pouting in the corner about me dominating his precious time...I was only on the phone for 1m and 54s. Hardly dominating time. The child manager needs to realise he's dealing with customers, I would wager he wouldn't be as rude or belligerent if customers were face to face. The owner should sack him as otherwise Nonna's has been a nice restaurant with outstanding service. Shame this one interaction has soured the relationship and we will no longer dine there. To top it all off the take away was poor in quality...
