First time in today at lunchtime with my friend. We both ordered the Oliver Twist which consisted of a poached egg, 3 slices of streaky bacon which was cooked until it was so hard I had to snap it to eat it and tiny vine tomatoes a sausage with 2 pancakes and maple syrup. At £12.50 we thought it was a tad expensive for what was on the plate. We also got a tea and a coffee. We placed our order then waited nearly half an hour for our food. The waitress did come up at one point and said our food would be out in just another 5 mins (it was 15 mins). By this time our drinks were cold and we didn't order more as we were actually on the verge of leaving. Nobody asked if the food was OK or if we wanted another drink. For a fat man I’m surprisingly a picky eater. Nothing ventured nothing gained we thought. Well I’m glad we tried it as each course was delicious!
I’ve always steered clear of cauliflower as I’ve never enjoyed it, clearly hadn’t found a way I would enjoy it until now!
Food came out perfectly timed in between courses and the waitstaff couldn’t do enough for us to make sure we enjoyed our meal.
All 6 agreed we’d have to return when the menu changes, but I might sneak back for another round of this months...
