This was the worst restaurant meal we've had in a very long time. Oregano used to be good before the pandemic closure but now its terrible. My calamari starter was 6 frozen rings that had been reheated. My partner's prawn cocktail was small frozen prawns and tasteless. My main was the highland pizza of haggis, black pudding, smoked cheese and bbq sauce but all I could taste was salt. My partner had the beef cheeks with honey roasted carrots and potatoes. The beef was a reheat as seen by the dry outside. The carrots were barely cooked, the closest they got to an oven was a microwave. The potato was rubbery, again reheated. There was no sauce with it. For a 20th of the price you could have gone to Farm Foods and got a mw ready meal, it would have tasted a lot better! We definitely won't be back again.

Choice of seating here, we sat in the Glasshouse which is a huge glass conservatory, feeling very airy and light. However, worth nothing that it (obviously) gets warm when the sun comes out although there is also an outside terrace with umbrella. Food menu has a cheaper afternoon option to 1600 as well as a full menu. The three of us had a selection of starters and the antipasti sharing platter and left feeling very full, probably because 2 of us also squeezed in pudding 🤫 Service was friendly and attentive. Price of £35 per head (without drinks) although we'll not need to eat anything else today!

Visited this place for a private function upstairs. I attended a baby shower for my niece-in-law. It is a nice place and was set up really well. The buffet food provided was really lovely and a complimentary glass of Prosecco. We did not use the restaurant downstairs. We did order drinks from the upstairs bar. I definitely recommend this place for private functions. I can not comment on the actual restaurant as I did not eat here.

I visited this restaurant with my children, sisters, and mum for an early Mother’s Day lunch. We spent Ā£111 but unfortunately left feeling disappointed.

Firstly, the restaurant was uncomfortably cold. There were a few electric heaters plugged in, but they didn’t seem effective. To warm up, we ended up ordering hot drinks.

The service was extremely slow. We arrived at 1:30 PM, yet our main dishes didn’t arrive until roughly 50 minutes later, even though the restaurant didn’t appear particularly busy for a Saturday afternoon.

My son ordered lentil soup, but it was served cold and tasted burnt. None of the staff checked on us to ask how our food was. When the server finally came to take away the untouched soup (only the bread was eaten), their response was simply, ā€œWe could’ve heated it up,ā€ with no apology for the poor quality.

When our mains arrived, my mum’s steak pie was a disaster. There wasn’t a hint of gravy. Upon removing the puff pastry lid, she found dry meat in the bowl—it honestly resembled dog food. My mum didn’t want to make a fuss, but when I mentioned it to the server, my mum asked for it to be taken back and gravy added. Even so, we were charged full price for the steak pie, which went back barely touched, with no apology offered for the unacceptable standard of the dish.

To top it all off, when the bill was brought out by yet another staff member there was no acknowledgment or apology for the issues we encountered, including the cold, burnt soup and the steak pie sent back to the kitchen.

Out of respect for my mum, who didn’t want to cause a scene, we paid the full Ā£111, which included both the steak pie and the soup that were barely edible.

I’m really disappointed with the service, food quality and how uncomfortably cold the...

Disappointed in overall experience. My friends and I were at the oregano for an afternoon tea. When the servers took our orders, they had to be asked and prompted to tell us what kind of teas they had. There was no menu for an afternoon tea on the table, a tray of about 12 quarter sandwiches and some food was put on our table with no one going through what we were to expect from the oregano’s afternoon tea (no explanation of cakes or tea/ coffee refills). The food was not enough for the 5 of us. Once we started, the teas were brought out and the pots were filled halfway, so two of us asked for more water. When the server was taking the pots away, she spilled hot water on my hand. I reacted and her response was ā€œthat happens when the pot is filledā€. No apology. We had to point out that an apology should be the first thing offered. We spoke to the manager about our issues, he apologised on behalf of the server but didn’t go any further, he said that the menu was online expecting that we take out our phones to look it up … this is a ā€œsample menu ā€. When the time came for the bill, there was no indication of compensation of the poor service and only took a glass of wine off the bill. We were still charged full price. On our way out, we spoke to the owner who assured us he would be in touch after explaining our displeasure and disappointment. This was 3 days ago. Don’t expect much when...

Eight of us froze here today. A heater was brought in but only warmed the legs of the two nearest it and even then it was switched off after a while. Most of us had to keep our jackets on during the meal. It's a pity no jackets were supplied for the food itself. Five of us had to send our cold food back. When we eventually got our meals back they were still not hot, luke warm maybe at a push. The meat was gristly and the mash tasted like smash. Then the service, what were the staff doing? The place was dead (not surprising after the meal and service we had). Everything took so long. We eventually had to ask someone to clear our plates. Then we had to ask if someone could bring dessert menus and if we could order teas and coffees. So eventually we get to order, the hot chocolate comes first, he drinks his hot chocolate and we chat for a while, then three desserts arrive, the banoffi without the advertised ice cream. We are just finishing our desserts when the tea arrives, a while later the coffee arrives. Eventually the last two desserts arrive, both the same sundaes, one without the wafer. I say arrive, actually they were slammed down in front of the two elderly diners without a word. We spent two hours and forty five minutes in a freezing room trying to get our meal and coffees. You're prices aren't cheap but your food and service...
