Pepe's — Restaurant in Scotland

I have visited few days ago. I waited for quiet some time before anyone attended to me, team was busy with serving delivery drivers from just eat and other services, despite the fact I was standing there before drivers came in. I would also strongly recommend to familiarize yourself with the menu before you go there, staff are not very patient with explaining how the menu work, when it comes to order your sauces etc. Assistant only pointed to the menu board with his finger and I still didn't know what I was suppose to look at. Eventually I managed to order a meal for myself and one for my little boy, I explained he wouldn't eat spicy food and got chicken nuggets with chips for him. When the meal arrived his chips were covered with piri piri spices, obviously he wouldn't eat it. I went back to the counter and explain what had happened but despite the fact the second man was very nice, he didn't quite understand what the issue was. So, I ended up buying extra portion of plain chips, as I didn't want to cause a scene. I was expecting my chips to be replaced, since it wasn't my mistake. But it didn't happen. I am little bit disappointed with customer service. Food is little bit overpriced too, given the fact chicken nuggets are not freshly prepared. Overpriced and undersized.

I was truly gobsmacked at the size of the food compared to the pictures on the website. I genuinely laughed out loud when I took my food out the wrapping. The bbq sizzler looks like it’s supposed to be the same size as a 6 inch sub from subway. It’s nothing like that at all. It’s so skinny like the whole thing is about as thick as a hot dog. The “chicken XL” large meal is not very XL. Again, it’s so tiny, it’s almost the same size as a 99p chicken Mayo from McDonald’s... the peri peri chips however were good, they were crispy and had a fair kick to them compared to other peri peri fries. Sadly they also were following the trend of undersized they were clearly not a large portion. Somewhere between a small and medium in my opinion.

The chicken on both rolls were very dry and the garlic Mayo provided in the tub is literally tasteless. Also it’s hands down the most watery sauce I have ever come across in my life. It’s like pepes have got a tub of water and a couple drops of garlic sauce mixed in.

Over all disgusting, overhyped rubbish that is massively overpriced and shockingly undersized.

I didn’t know what star to put. Food is always nice but I’m there 4/5 times a week and they get my order wrong i only ever want no lettuce and the other night i asked for peri peri fries with my meal. Got no piri piri salt at all and only reason i asked for a meal is because i like piri fries. So when i went in last night i told the guy on the till about it he didn’t care at all or check. Ordered XL meal asked for only no lettuce on my burger I repeated it a few times and when i get home the burger was plain. Nothing at all. When i ask for no lettuce it dont mean no mayonnaise or cheese witch i paid for he asked if i wanted cheese then don’t give me it. I never complain ever but 2/3 times out of the week i come then is always something wrong with my order i am sick of it. I order the same thing everytime they know me well how can you get that wrong. Great place though its quick and food is always amazing when its RIGHT. They need to sort their staff out as they are more interested in upselling than getting the food correct.
