I'll premise the following by saying I had high hopes for the place, it was one I visited often as a teenager when in Glasgow.
Well, the Stirling establishment didn't disappoint my nostalgic memories. We were warmly greeted on arrival by Tamara we were seated and ordered very quickly. The decor feels a little "Blackpool" but not in a bad way, somewhat cheesy but classy at the same time, a fine balance done well.
We ordered Fish and Chips and Pizza Crunch & Chips.
The pizza was fluffy in the middle and crunchy on the outside. The fish was melt in the middle goodness. The chips were clearly peeled and cut fresh in the restaurant and are high quality. A slice of farmhouse bread to make a wee butty too, topped the meal off nicely.
The toilet was clean and presentable, despite the hand dryer being fairly inefective but you grow to expect this. Maybe needs one of those airblades in there instead?
Price wise, no complaints, it's top end of middle, but the food is good quality and is a fair representation for the food you receive.
Well done to the owners who've expanded across Scotland with several other restaurants.

Read moreAbsolutely rank-rotten. Presents itself as an up-market, authentic Fish & Chip shop. But, it really is just a really below average chippie. I had their "BL Burger" and chips. I can only describe the burger as an "abomination". I wasn't expecting prime burgers, but what I was served was 2 wafer-thin economy burgers, deep-fried to within an inch of their lives. Served on a stale morning roll with some very sad lettuce and the most rancid, vile relish I've ever tasted. If you're going to charge me £6 for a burger, at least have the decency to serve it on a toasted bun. That and the chips were soggy, undercooked and practically floating on a pool of grease. A chippie that can't even get chips right says it all really. Also, the waiting staff were uninterested, almost unfriendly and the guy who was cleaning the tables quite openly picked his nose in front of us, before putting down "clean" cutlery with the same hand. NICE ! Do yourself a favour and if you are in Stirling, give this place wide berth. Just go to one of the takeaway chippies. The food is better, cheaper and the staff in most of them are friendly, or at...
Read moreOur experience in The Blue Lagoon overall was great, we decided to try dining in and we weren't disappointed. Our waitress let us choose our own seat, showed us the menu and we had food ordered not too long after that. The presentation of the restaurant was very fitting and the decor really worked with the whole vibe they were going for, especially the strip lighting on the walls, it felt very modern and most importantly it was spotlessly clean. We ordered a white pudding supper and smoked sausage, both of which were very fresh and delicious, our only complaint was the smoked sausage could have been slightly bigger than just half a sausage and maybe a handful more chips on each plate but the food did speak for itself as the flavours were excellent, batter was nice and crispy on the white pudding and the chips were fluffy. To finish off our meal we decided to go for the classic deep fried mars bar and ice cream and this definitely didn't disappoint, the batter was crispy, and the mars bar was piping hot 10/10. If you're looking for a good "chippy" in Stirling then I wouldn't hesitate again on coming back...
