Pepe's — Restaurant in Scotland

Came here with a friend for a very early lunch and the place was quiet. Pepe's Piri Piri is mainly a chicken and burger place, but they did have a separate vegetarian menu, so it felt like they would take this kind of thing seriously. Inside, the decorations was fresh and clean with a mixture of booth style seats, breakfast tables and, ordinary tables and chairs. Comfortable.

To order the food, there's a counter service like McDonald's or Burger King, the staff welcoming and pretty friendly. There were three very different vegetarian mean options, which is nice for this kind of place. I went for the Paneer Rice meal. Firstly, there were mind-boggling options for how it would be cook and the only thing I could remember was Lemon and Herb sauce.

The rice came in a box, rice on the bottom and the paneer on top. Not classy, but Pepe's isn't that kind of place, so fair enough. First of the paneer with the lemon and herb sauce was not good. The lemon sauce was too thick and far too tart. It was so tart, it tasted more like lemon juice than a sauce. Then to top things off, I found two piece of chicken in the paneer. I had to take the meal back to the counter when the manager came out to explain that the chef should have separated out the meat. As a vegetarian, I honestly don't want to know what that meant. Regardless, I got a replacement paneer rice.

The only reason I'm giving two instead of one star is because my friend thought his meal was satisfactory, the manager apologised and also replaced my meal...

Family of 4 visited last night with a bill of almost £100. not worth it and food is not good, wish i had gone to Ambala for fresh testy food instead. The guy serving couldnt be made out he mumbled his way through the questions as we ordered, i thought he was gargling mouth wash coulnt make out a word he was saying so i told him to speak up and speak clearly .The place was dead not a good sign and our fizzy drinks were all flat so the staff then changed the gas bottle, pitty they didnt notice it beforehand but waited for us to complain, irritating!. The food came cold bland. The chips cold hard with a mountain of saw dust peri peri powder thrown over them all , NOT sprinkled. The wings and srips were only thing decent but expensive. We got sauces , hot no taste just hot spicy or mayo or mayo or mayo, WHY? in peri shop would iwant to dip chips into mayo and the mayo peri is just mayo,,,ketchup would have even done! The half chicken was red inside undercooked and mostly bone with a fight to eat it at this point i was angry for the money spent and the calorie intake and absolutly no enjoyment at all.....been tomany peri s all over , this was the worst! Dumping peri altogether now ,...

Went in tuesday 26th nov and was ordering with my friend my friend had ordered extra HOT food then it came for me to order my food i asked for my food to be not hot the person serving me thought it would be funny to make mockery of me as i didnt want my food to be hot and went for less hot & mild flavours, got insulted on 3 occasions ( girl with glasses & braces) she did not know my health condition and she thought it was funny to make fun out of me she even went to the extreme of putting a plain sticker on my burger when i had not ordered plain. Even after eating the food me and my friend went home to a really bad stomach i feel thats because of the food was not cooked properly. Just shows the customer care at this place like jokes aside atleast cook the order properly... would not recommend this place as its untidy and stuff are rude the tables werent even cleaned properly with sauce stains and drink stains all...
