Low prices, average food, terrible service
We ate as a group here, I had been wanting to try the place for ages because the reviews have been so good, having eaten there myself now I find those positive reviews quite confusing as they don't reflect our experience at all.
The positives are that the prices are on the low side for an Indian restaurant in Glasgow, the portion sizes reflect that but at the same time you don't leave feeling like you've overeaten, so that's a good thing.
The food itself is average at best, there are many, many restaurants in Glasgow that do this so much better. Some of them within an easy walk of this place - you'd think they'd up their game in the face of such competition but maybe the low price point is their USP.
The service was appalling. We had to wait ages for any kind of service, whether it was getting drinks, ordering food or even getting the bill. More than once we had to wave to try and get some attention, at one point one of us had to get up and ask for service. We even had the waiter walk away in the middle of taking the order at one point and took so long to come back we were starting to wonder if we'd ever see him again!
Based on the mediocre food and the poor service, it's very unlikely we'll be back. I was personally embarrassed as it had been my suggestion to the group that we go. The place even had some "awards" on display in the restaurant area, I can only assume they were purchased from Etsy. No self-respecting awards body would think this place deserved any kind of recognition.

Read moreI had heard a lot about this venue and I was not disappointed for some Bengali and south Asian Tapas in the west end of Glasgow.
I had a very friendly welcome on arrival and quickly seated. The dining area was full of interesting decorations and the roof was plastered with posters from the origin. Was a good idea.
Staff were very attentive and steered me through the menu and the plates.
I wanted a lamb dish and the Lamb Handi was recommended. As it was tapas street food I also ordered a garlic chicken Tikka and a Korma sauce. With a Chapatti and Pilau rice on the side and of course the traditional papadums and spicy onions.
The lamb was succulent and the sauce Devine, very spicy and full of flavours. It was a great recommendation. I will try again on my return.
The Tikka and korma was also fantastic. The whole experience was fantastic. A really great seeing crew. All happy and enjoying what they did.
I booked in advance as I was dining in a Friday and I would recommend booking your spot. I would not be happy to rock up and not get a spot.
I look forward to a return next time I am Glasgow.
If you are in the city centre, this restaurant is about a 15 minute ride on the subway to the Kelvin Hall stop. Worth doing...
Read moreNot a big fan of Indian restaurants in Glasgow, as the original Indian flavours are tailored to the taste sensitivities of people here. The interiors were well made, trying to bring reminiscence of things we come across in India. If it's quiet (Mondays) they might close the kitchen soon. Wasn't happy with customer service. To elaborate, we went with a mindset to just eat food. But the waitress seemed to look down on us since we didn't feel like ordering any drinks. May not have been her intention, but her gesture seemed like mockery( she replied like - "why not?"). We felt bad.
We ordered Delhi chicken kurma, Mutton biryani and butter naan. Everything was low on quantity, but I can't complain much since the price was also 10-15% lower compared to its competitors. Naan was good and aromatic. Raita was good. Kurma's taste was okay and it's almond flavour worked pretty well. I resonated with other google reviewers - who uses peas in biryani ?🙄
Overall it's a decent place to try. A typical Indian food would have 10 different flavours. This place managed to cover about 2 or 3 maybe. Basic, but well done compared to so many other (disappointing) Indian...
