Google doesn’t have enough stars to truly rate Ristorante La Vigna.

My family popped in by chance after an autumn walk at New Lanark, expecting a standard pizza/ pasta Italian that you would find in most small towns, but were very pleasantly surprised.

This charming restaurant is easily one of the best finds in Scotland. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by Aldo and the warm, welcoming staff - who are exceptionally gracious and attentive.

The restaurant exudes sophistication with its elegant decor, soft lighting, and refined atmosphere of fine dining, but without losing its homey and relaxing feel. We loved how authentic it is, making for a truly special dining experience.

The waiters are masters of their trade, attentive without being overly fussy, and magically appear just when you need a sprig of Parmesan - or another drink.

And the food - wow! It’s fresh and absolutely delicious.

While they don’t have a children’s menu, they were very accommodating and offered to make pasta pomodoro for our fussy kids. Both left with clean plates, which speaks for itself!

Every dish is presented exquisitely, and bursts with flavour; whether you're indulging in their steak, enjoying super fresh fish and shellfish (my wife’s family hails from the Hebridean islands and set the gold standard for fish critiques), or savouring one of their delightful desserts, wheeled to your table on a cart for you to choose from.

Ristorante La Vigna is a fantastic spot for anyone seeking an exceptional dining experience. We can’t recommend it enough!

Just home from our 1st visit. Can't wait to return. Best food I've tasted in a long time. The mushroom pastry basket starter was so full of flavour, the smell as it reached the table was amazing. Hubby enjoyed the pate starter, and the chutney was superb. Both Fillet Steaks were cooked to perfection. I could have sat all night sampling the desserts. Unfortunately I only had room for 1, the creme brulee, did not disappoint. Both gentlemen waiters were very attentive and their recommendation of the house rose was spot on. We can't wait until our next visit. Enjoy your week off & we look forward to...

We've eaten here twice and both times the food and service has been absolutely faultless. The menu showcases some great local produce, cooked beautifully in true Italian style. There's no Hawaiian pizza or spaghetti carbonara on this menu - it's all authentic Italian dishes, generously portioned and excellently served. Real Italian cooking.

The house wine was a superb option by the glass, and the homemade desserts a real treat.

We enjoyed talking with our friendly waiter who made us feel incredibly welcome. I would recommend La Vigna to anyone looking for a relaxed, authentic and delicious...

Booked for lunch at short notice , with no problem. Hand sanitising station as you enter. Really wonderful service. Chose from the seasonal lunch menu, which offered 2 or 3 courses. The ravioli was superb - hot and delicious. Banofee pie from the sweet trolley was excellent. Made extra delicious by the almond biscuits in the base. Very nice treat for a special occasion. Had a very well stocked bar too. With a good selection of wines. The aperitif cocktails looked fab although we were driving. A wee gem hidden in Lanark.
