There is nothing wrong with the staff in here. They’re all polite enough, not overly keen to make the start of your outbound journey pleasant but not rude either. The issue is the amount of time it takes them to serve you. There’s five of them plus two on the floor bussing and cleaning up. Seven staff essentially for one queue. So, how they appear to work is task driven. So, one does the drinks, one services, one heats the food etc. A good way to work by and large - McDonald’s take note. Except, the service itself just isn’t there. I was third in a queue of ten. Yes, I’m sad - I counted backwards but only because I wanted to highlight that there is a service issue in this place. Being in the service industry myself I hate to leave bad reviews, but equally I hate bad service. Especially when it is systematic and frequent, as it has been here each time. It took them twelve minutes to take my order of a breakfast roll and a bottle of water. There is no impetus, it seems to ask a second person to jump on which I would always ask my staff to do anywhere I’ve managed. There are other tasks that can wait until things slow down. That’s perhaps on management because they always seem to be on staff to get things done. How about cutting your staff some slack so that they can give a customer focused experience. Nothing worse than going on your holiday’s and the people serving you look like they just want to curl up in their beds and never meet human existence again. As I write this, I see that almost twenty minutes later, the person at the back of the queue when I was third is only just being served. That means that person has been waiting almost half an hour in a queue of ten to order a coffee in a place that would have a cheek to imply they are short staffed. As I said, SEVEN staff in total with the Starbucks uniform on. I’m aware the place is in an airport and there is an element of people having lots of time to kill. Not always the case. There are lots of elements that can put people under pressure -= long security lines, other shopping, running late, gates in the distance. As i say at the beginning, nice enough staff - could use a smile or two now and then, no issue with any verbal exchange and have never heard them being rude any time I’ve travelled but I think that amount of time to order a water and a breakfast roll in a highly staffed store is just very...
Read moreIf i could give this place 0 stars I would. I fly frequently out of Glasgow Airport, enough to notice a pattern in the staff in this particular Starbucks. Everytime ive had an early morning flight, it’s advertised that they open at 4am, but everytime ive been heading in for after 4am the staff are just stood talking behind the tills and anytime a customer approaches them after 4am they say ‘we’re not open’ or ‘dont come back for another 10 minutes’ no apologies for the lateness or rudeness. I understand once in a while possibly running behind with staff shortages etc but its a pattern now, that day there was 5 staff members and all 5 were doing nothing but stood talking and palming off customers. It makes you feel like an imposter when you go in here and the staff look at you as if what you’re doing (coming to a coffee shop to get a coffee at the time it’s advertised to be open) is weird behaviour??? Honestly sort it out. I work in retail and I cant imagine just getting to choose when the shop opens (not following opening hours) and speaking so flippantly to a number of customers that I’ve witnessed in such a rude and...
Read moreRelatively quiet at 10.45 on a Tuesday morning so was surprised at the terrible service especially with around 8 staff members on. Served by Brooke who rushed us through our order she then made us split the transaction into two as she Rang it through so fast. Had to navigate around 2 staff members talking at the counter. Ordered two croissants which our server forgot about had our drinks slammed down in front of us then went to sit at a dirty table and chair. Again 8 STAFF MEMBERS AND IT WAS VERY QUIET! Also if ordering a skinny vanilla latte it would be good for them to realise or ask that sugar free syrup should also be used. Also Starbucks it would be nice investing in some cleaning materials. The one poor person who was actually working was having to brush the floor with a broom with a broken handle and she looked quite...
