The Auld Alliance — Restaurant in Scotland

We were looking forward to this restaurant, but unfortunately it didn't live up to our expectations. The dishes looked beautiful, but the starter with the smoked blue cheese panna cotta lacked flavor. The main course with the trout seemed promising, but it lacked flavor and was completely overshadowed by the very sour cabbage. The dish with the game was also a poor combination, as the Moroccan spices completely overpowered the meat. Individually, the dishes were good, but the combination did not work well. Great food but some of the plates far too overfacing,I started with the scallops which were lovely,my wife had the haggis and blackpudding with whisky sauce which was absolutely delicious but far too much for a starter,maybe smaller amount on a smaller plate,she had ordered the rib eye steak for her main,it was huge and the chips were not good,she was so full after her starter,I had the lamb which was really nice,my dessert was the lemon posset,probably the best dessert I have had.good food but maybe concentrate on presentation and portion size,overall...

A fantastic time in this stunning little traditional Scottish and fresh influenced restaurant. A well balanced menu focused on local ingredients with a french twist beautifully presented. A warm friendly welcome and attentive service with out being overwhelming and starting perfectly with homemade daily bread. Personally I had the local queeniess, crab and mussel grattan and my friends all had local rump and serlion steaks all perfectly cooked. I will be coming back, well done the...
