The Auld Hoose Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Scotland

We used this restaurant for the first time last night for a takeaway order. My wife was searching for a decent Chinese restaurant in our area and we stumbled across this Chinese restaurant by chance. We set the sat-nav to find it and my wife popped in while i parked outside. She was impressed and spoke to whom i assume was the owner. The following day (Saturday) we ordered a takeaway. We were both impressed with the delivery service, i think the boss himself came out with this order, sorry, i cant remember his name There was a minor hiccup with the payment details as although i done the order my wife used her card to make the payment and it through a wobbly into the payment system. The delivery guy was professional throughout and we arranged to make the payment via phone. We also advised him that assuming the delivery meal was OK we would make an in-house booking this coming Friday 02/02/23 however something has cropped up for Friday so we will try and visit this coming Tuesday. As regards the takeaway meal for both of us i can only say it was excellent and we both thoroughly enjoyed the meal. My wife had King Prawn and i had Chicken Pepper & Blackbean Sauce. Decided to visit The Auld Hoose Chinese Restaurant 102 New Street Musselburgh last night for a meal after hearing good feed back about the food and service. We weren't disappointed. The restaurant is well laid out and very clean. The decor says Chinese but probably could do with a few tweaks however the owners have only been there a few months and finding their feet. This does not mean to say the food and service wasn't excellent. The menu isn't too extensive but all the usual favourites are available including delicious dim sum for starters, could easily just ordered them again and had them for the main course. Spicy Singapore noodles and ubon noodles with beef were the two main courses followed by ice-cream and lychees and fantastica and ice cream. Two large glasses of the house merlot, which was very tasty and two zero alcohol bottles of Heineken completed the meal. The service throughout was spot on for us with no push to order quickly. The total for the meal was just £66.00p which we thought was very good value. Great to find a good Chinese restaurant in Musselburgh, we will return soon....

Absolutely blow away with the delicious meal I got from here! The owner was very nice and talk with me about how he started the restaurant and exchanged a few stories while I waited for my order!

On the menu, we got the: Vegetable spring rolls: Nice spring rolls, came with a side of sauce that went really good with the spring rolls! Vegetable fried rice: Absolutely delicious! Literally the best Veg rice I've had! I'm from Canada and this place does it better than most! King prawn in Green pepper and black bean sauce: This dish was immaculate, I poured it over the rice, and I was I heaven. Udon king prawn chow main: Very good noodles and all around great meal!

Was thankful that I got some Prawn chrisps included in my take out because they are absolutely delicious, even dipped them in the pepper and...
