The Bell Jar — Restaurant in Scotland

This is a great bar that does great food that is far above the usual pub grub. My only gripe with the food was that [although wonderful] the portions/plates are very small.

There's also a great selection of beers / ales and the service and staff were all lovely. The bar itself feels like a traditional 'old man's boozer' that has been gentrified somewhat by far more trendy [almost Hipster] and younger patrons. Well it’s a nice pub, but I’m afraid the food was honkin :/ like, it sounds lovely on paper but then you get it and you’re like jeezo this is greasy and underseasoned. Look I’m no chef and I don’t mind food that’s average, but when all I can think about is how much better I could’ve cooked that masel, i feel hollow inside in more ways than one: I couldnae each much of it. Nice pub with a great atmosphere, but unfortunately the food fell short of expectations. There weren’t any major issues, but nothing really stood out. I ordered the pork, which was quite dry, and the stuffed peppers, which were raw, and just warmed up.
