Anarkali Indian Restaurant — Restaurant in Scotland

This review is not good and it really pains me because we have been eating food from the Anarkali for at least 25 years. As youngsters we lived in a flat round the corner and now many years on we live in St Annes in Lancashire and when we are home visiting family we always order an Anarkali carry-out to bring 200 miles back home cos it’s is the best…. Until tonight. So I ordered various dishes amounting to over £70. Usual starters, chicken pakora, prawn puri, tikka starter etc, and our usual mains, tandoori mix grill, special biryani, chicken/lamb tikka masala. Issues, Liquid leaked out of containers into both bags. Nan bread was completely ruined. Prawn puri? Was like a sweet and sour dish. Not like any prawn puri I have had at Anarkali before (or anywhere else) 3.. chicken tikka masala and lamb tikka masala! The menu says “Pieces Of Chicken Tikka Cooked Into A Rich Creamy Sauce With Ground Cashew Nuts, Coconut Powder & Almonds”. I got meat ( and not tandoori or tikka) in a red spicy sauce. Certainly not what I have been served from the Anarkali before. At this point I now have a tandoori mix grill that has leaked all over the bag and a special biryani that is just no longer appealing. This meal was bought specially to be shared with Glasgow friends here in Lancashire tomorrow night as we have always raved about the fabulous Anarkali. went to this place last night with my wife & decided we only wanted a starter & one main curry between us as we find that is enough for us along with rice nan bread poppadoms. The starter we tried to order was mixed pakora of fish,veg,chicken & no mushroom please ! waiter came back & told us it's not possible only the veg & chicken were available on the mixed pakora the fish is separate ??? REALLY !!! ooookkkaaayyyy then fine...he then came back & told us we had to order 2 starters & 2 mains as it's there policy ??? some policy that i thought telling people what they can & can't order ...so just decided to take my business to a restaurant who appreciated it !!! My wife felt extremely embarressed & uncomfortable in front of the other customers in the restaurant having to leave...Also the waiter was not very pleasant & place is in need of a update to the decor to be honest...so from my experiance go elswhere for your curry...

We ordered 2 currys last night wich came withing 20 mins the currys were for the first time in my life tastless after having to call and complain and ask them to resend or give us our money back the shop agreed to 2 hours later by this time my husvand had got food feom somewhere else and i explained we do not want the food resent untill tomorrow as we have now had to eat something else it cost 35 pounds for our food when i called up tonight and explained again i was told there is nothing that they could do seriously 35 pounds for a bite of each curry having been a customer for over ten years i am disgusted with how we have been treated even tipping the delivery driver 4 pounds as i expected nothing less than really good food this is a joke and me or my friends and familly will not be using this shop ever...
