The Buccleuch — Restaurant in Scotland

Popped on with my partner at 10pm, and the atmosphere can only be described as terrible. We intended to stay here for several hours for local drinks, discussed with staff in relation to the poor music choice, but they advised that the DJ contr9lllee this issue. I discussed this issue with the DJ, as I dislike dance and no members of the audience were dancing, he strongly reported that he only played this genre of music and this was non negotiable. Due to above, we left promptly and made the decision to travel a 25 min journey to a more accommodating pub, with a DJ who was willing to play music outwith modern dance.

I popped into The Buccleuch Dalkieth for some lunch with a work colleague, I ordered a simple soup thinking this would be quick and delicious lunch - unfortunately what was presented before me was a bowl of think sloppy potato and leek soup. I was utterly disappointed and shared this with the waitress who just took the dish away and said nothing.

I will not be returning to this establishment and would not recommend...

This was a nice sit down pub experience. The food was good and the portions were massive. They even brought my steak out still sizzling. If I had one point of contention it's that the music was so loud my wife couldn't hear me talk to her. We were near a speaker though so I can't really fault them. She studied abroad in Scotland 11 years ago and The Buccleuch was one of her 2 favorite places to eat. ...
